Job description – Digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in preventing and monitoring dengue and Covid-19: A comparative study of Singapore and other countries
Position: Research Assistant (Bachelor degree/Master level)
Contract: 4 months
Location: Singapore, CNRS@CREATE (NUS campus)
We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant (RA) to support a multidisciplinary project that investigates prevention strategies for dengue and Covid-19 in Singapore (https://www.cnrsatcreate.cnrs.fr/space/). The research emphasizes the transformative role of digital technologies and AI in public health management.
Tasks:
- Conduct literature reviews on the use of digital technologies and AI applications in public health, focusing on dengue and Covid-19 prevention, monitoring, and control.
- Assist with data collection through interviews with stakeholders (public health officials, tech developers, researchers) and through document analysis of government reports, policies, and relevant publications.
- Support comparative analysis of prevention strategies, focusing on digital technologies (mobile apps, AI, IoT, drones) used in different countries.
- Analyze secondary health data (e.g. dengue incidence rates, app usage statistics, etc.) and integrate qualitative findings from interviews.
- Assist in preparing academic manuscripts, policy briefs, and presentations.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in public health, geography, urban studies, data science, or a related field.
· Experience with qualitative research methods.
· Strong interest in digital technologies, AI, and public health in Asia.
· Proficiency in literature reviews, data analysis, and report writing.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Preferred skills:
· Knowledge of health policies and urban public health challenges in Asia.
- Familiarity with research ethics, especially in relation to interviews or handling public health data
- Familiarity with Southeast Asian contexts, especially Singapore and neighboring countries.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Proficiency in additional languages spoken in Southeast Asia would be a plus, though not required.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, effectively managing time, staying organized, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

· The grade of appointment will be determined based on the candidate’s academic qualifications and years of relevant experience.
