We are now recruiting for a Prospect Development Manager on a permanent, full-time contract, working 35 hours per week. About the role

As Prospect Development Manager you will work to identify new target donor audiences and embed a proactive prospect development strategy that delivers strong, long-term pipelines across our museums and income streams. Workshop Manager

The Gallery Services department provides technical services across the Science Museum, maintaining a diverse array of interactive exhibits and displays. This skilled technical team supports the museum in delivering an ambitious programme of activities ensuring a high-quality visitor experience. The workshop is equipped with both engineering and woodwork machines, as well as a laser cutter, 3D printer and welding facilities.

We are recruiting for a Workshop Manager to join our electromechanical team to oversee workshop activities and manage the engineering apprentices through their final years of study. This role is based at the Science Museum in London, working full-time (36 hours per week) on a fixed-term contract for 23 months.

About the role

As Workshop Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operation of the workshop, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You will line manage two apprentices, supporting them through their studies and ensuring their ongoing safety. You will develop and run toolbox talks and other training materials to keep the wider team of technicians up to date on best practice.

You will also support daily museum operations, the maintenance and repair of hands-on electro-mechanical exhibits, including making replacement parts using a range of hand and machine tools. In addition to supporting the operation of our historic working objects such as the Burnley Mill Steam Engine.

About you

You will have a time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification and experience of managing, mentoring or leading others in a workshop environment. You will have a good understanding of workshop processed and health and safety, with previous experience in management of workshop machinery and procedures.

You will be an effective collaborator, able to work with a team possessing a wide range of different experience and backgrounds, in a friendly and approachable manner, with a proactive and positive approach to teaching others about how things work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to scholarship on contemporary art practice and its discourses by facilitating and supporting research and research activities of the Curatorial department.
• Develop and maintain physical and digital holdings of the SAM library collection, to include fulfilling curatorial requests, monitoring new releases/titles, cataloguing (cataloguing, metadata creation, accessioning), and keeping up with subscriptions and memberships.

Role Summary:

To manage and ensure the function of the Medical Department throughout the Academy. Supervise and support the medical staff, sports science, nutrition and psychology staff at the academy. Provide first class physiotherapy and injury prevention services to all Millwall Academy Players when necessary and delegate responsibilities to the appropriate staff.

Ensure the creation of a medical department that is viewed as leading in injury prevention and management.



Key Responsibilities:

The role includes, but is not limited to:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Academy Sports Science and Medicine department across all phases.

• Develop the departmental performance plan and ensure correlation of plan to daily activities.

• Develop and maintain effective communication strategies to all staff, players and parents regarding the departmental philosophy and operations.

• Lead and manage all departmental staff through processes of appraisal and individualised continued professional development strategies.

• Ensure all department qualifications are up to date and meet audit requirements.

• Continue to progress and improve the academy athletic development strategy across all phases.

• Ensure appropriate medical staffing across all venues including training, matchdays and tours etc. for all age groups, in accordance with the Youth Development Regulations and Best Practice Guidance.

• Manage and deliver a strategy for the maintenance of medical notes/records for all academy players in line with CSP and HCPC guidance.

• Responsible for supervising the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all players across the academy whilst delegating responsibilities to the appropriate medical staff.

• Responsible for the smooth running of the injury prevention programme on a day-to-day basis, utilising the department’s therapists and sports science staff when needed based on the departmental philosophy. Includes daily pre-activation and prehab programme organisation and implementation.

• Ensure the management of injuries effectively meets its commitments to the players, coaches and senior management through accurate documentation on The Millwall Intelligence Platform.

• Ensure all medical notes are up to date within 24 hours of treatment and logged on The Millwall Intelligence Platform.

• Deliver indoors (physio room and gym) and outdoors (on field) rehabilitation sessions according to departmental rehabilitation syllabus and safely return to play.

• Accompany players to medical consultations at short notice, ensuring best practice is always followed and the player receives the optimal advice at all times.

• Ensure the academy operates following the EPPP rules and lead the audit preparation of the medical department.

• Promote safeguarding within the organisation and create a safe and inclusive environment for all. Report any safeguarding concerns as and when required.

• Engage in all Sports Science & Medicine CPD activities as well as any other mandatory training.



Essential / Desired Requirements:

• BSc Degree in Physiotherapy (Essential)

• HCPC CSP (Essential)

• ATMMiF (Essential)

• Safeguarding Children Certificate (Essential)

• Full driver’s license with access to a vehicle would be desirable.
