REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience: 7+ Years

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Understanding the client’s business use cases and technical requirements and be able to convert them into technical design which elegantly meets the requirements.
• Mapping decisions with requirements and be able to translate the same to developers.
• Identifying different solutions and being able to narrow down the best option that meets the client’s requirements.
• Defining guidelines and benchmarks for NFR considerations during project implementation
• Writing and reviewing design document explaining overall architecture, framework, and high-level design of the application for the developers
• Reviewing architecture and design on various aspects like extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, NFRs, etc., and ensure that all relevant best practices are followed.

Summary:

Senior Actuarial Consultant responsible for developing accurate and timely financial analysis for clients. The Senior Analytics Consultant will work closely and collaboratively with the Regional Leaders and various colleagues throughout the field offices, to support the National Clients .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Assist clients and teams in defining underwriting, contribution and plan design strategies.
• Employ effective project management skills for balancing requests from multiple Client Teams, and for the efficient delivery of results.
• Requires effective communication skills for clearly explaining detailed analysis to Client Teams and Clients, and the ability to understand Client Teams/Client perspectives that can be reflected in the development of deliverables.
• Prepare and review reserves and assumptions used in reserve. Present results to client contact.

• Develop relationships with top tier clients and provide actuarial insights / consulting to those clients on a regular basis.
• Follow and maintain all Actuarial Standards of Practice and stay current with Actuarial studies.

Base Pay Range: $140k-$170k

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance. This is a field-based position for the Cardiometabolic Senior Medical Science Liaison (CVM Sr MSL) therapeutic area within the US Medical team. The territory is Manhattan.

• Educate and communicate clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to payers, providers, key stakeholders, advocacy, and access enablers

• Provide in depth clinical and economic support to payers, IDNs, and formulary committees, providing feedback to key internal stakeholders on customer trends in interpreting and using value evidence, reimbursement, and payer policy. May serve as main medical point of contact at prioritized local payer, regional payer, and IDN accounts

• Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with the MSL compliance standards

• Provide and/or present field observations and insights to internal stakeholders

• Implement scientific engagement plan according to annual MSL goals and metrics

• Develop and implement local OL plans in line with SEP

• Support speaker training as requested and ensure the speakers are updated on new data

• Support Amgen sponsored research and may serve as a study lead

• Educate potential investigators on the submission process for investigator sponsored studies

• Lead and/or participate on project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics as delegated by MSL leadership

• Lead and support congress activities as aligned with strategy. May serve as congress lead

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)

• Five years of industry experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company

• At least three years in a Medical Science Liaison role

• Five or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research. Experience in a medically related field can include post-doctoral training (i.e., residencies and/or fellowships)

Position Purpose / Major Accountabilities:

• Conducts process development and process upscaling studies for new medical device products

• Runs studies to gain fundamental process understanding at a Y = f(x) level and uses this process knowledge to: improve yields, reduce defects, define specifications and define user requirements for equipment

• Analyzes data to assess the sources of variation in the process and understand the cause and effect relationship between factors and responses

• Documents study design, results, next steps and process knowledge / understanding

• Communicates results and next steps to various teams within R&D

• Supports process development timeline by completing tasks on schedule

• Collaborates and partners with associates from multiple disciplines, including Engineering, Development, Research and Production, to ensure project success

Additional Accountabilities:

• Designs, executes and analyzes Engineering Studies to be performed in the lab, pilot line and MTO production lines in areas including, but not limited to: Measurement System Evaluation (MSE, GR&R), Component of Variation Studies (COV) and Design of Experiments (DOE)

• Documents study designs using graphical sampling plans and Factor Relationship Diagrams (FRDs)

• Documents process knowledge and process investigations using Thought Maps and Process Maps

• Performs data analysis including process performance index (Ppk), ANOVA, regression, Chi-square, etc.

• Applies intermediate level principles of engineering and / or chemistry analysis, blends technical knowledge and manufacturing practices in providing solutions to problems

• Position may require international travel, particularly to Germany for periods of up to two weeks per year

• Positive attitude with good interpersonal skills and ability to support a team environment

Skills / Experience:

• Proficient in MS Office

• Work experience in FDA regulated industry, specifically medical devices or contact lenses (preferred)

• Experience in statistical analysis using JMP or Minitab and / or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher)

• Experience writing, executing and analyzing Engineering Studies (preferred)

• Experience with high-speed automation (preferred)

As a Senior Engineer supporting our Research and Development Engineering Team, you will be trusted with helping to develop and maintain equipment for developing new contact lens products at our manufacturing site in Johns Creek, GA.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Developing, crafting, installing, commissioning, qualifying, validating, and optimizing ocular health laboratory and manufacturing equipment in compliance with Good Practice (GxP) procedures

• Communicating and coordinating with internal/external vendors during the implementation, commissioning, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and optimization of equipment 

• Completing tasks efficiently and working together with other departments to achieve common and overarching project goals (e.g. landmark, budget, etc.) 

• Being responsible for redefining the current maintenance concept into a paperless system using Maximo

• Assuring that there is a safe and orderly work environment and compliance with corporate rules and regulations

• Providing support as needed and generating required technical documents including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training manuals, and protocols per GMP guidelines

• Troubleshooting and correcting issues related to sophisticated production equipment used in the contact lens development/manufacturing process

• Crafting maintenance plans or spare part infrastructure to reduce unplanned machine downtimes

• Maintaining equipment and repair and preventive maintenance records

• Crafting and implementing protocols for product development and preparing documentation related to procedures, training, work instructions, validations, reports, etc.

• Applying technical methods to optimize processes and sustainably improving product quality and process yields

• Having a positive demeanor with good interpersonal skills and being capable of supporting an excellent team environment

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
