More detail about the role: We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Nurse to join Dewerstone Research Team. Working with us offers a good work life balance as we mainly work normal working/office hours, Monday to Friday. We are looking for somebody with prior clinical research experience to oversee the CRN Hepatology and Surgical portfolio of studies. The post holder will require established clinical skills in addition to their research knowledge and experience. However, having a clinical background or current experience within the field would be advantageous The post holder will be required to work autonomously with strong organisational, communication and IT skills to oversee the variety of studies within the portfolio with leadership and wider oversight from a Research Team lead. This role involves a close working relationship with the clinical hepatology and surgery multidisciplinary teams, in particular with consultants and specialist nurses. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management and recruitment to a variety of studies which include both non-interventional (observational) studies and more complex interventional commercial trials such as investigational medical products (CTIMPs). Learning opportunities to develop and build upon clinical knowledge are available. Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09.00 - 17.00, although some flexibility maybe required with some evening and/or weekend, dependant on the trial and patient availability. More detail about the role: This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join the Clinical Trials Team as a Senior Research Nurse. You will be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the performance of clinical trials mainly with regard to the orthopaedic portfolio and the management of a team of clinical research staff within. As a Senior Research Nurse you will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the clinical requirements associated with research to ensure optimum delivery of Clinical trials. You will ensure that research will be conducted in accordance with the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice guidelines to provide assurance that the rights, safety and well-being of trial participants are protected. About you The team is looking for someone with a flexible and highly motivated attitude with proven research skills. Respiratory nursing experience would be an advantage but proven clinical experience caring for patients with chronic conditions and understanding the care required for the deteriorating patient is essential. This role requires competence in venous access and intravenous and subcutaneous drug administration as well as the ability to learn and demonstrate technical skills, that are required routinely for respiratory trials e.g. spirometry, administration of nebulisers and the collection of sputum samples. You must have proven IT skills and be competent in data management. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of and have experience in research study management, including pipeline, expressions of interest, feasibility, setup, costing, recruitment & retention and strategies for meeting study metrics.
