Job Summary
HCSC is recruiting for a leader of our AI Innovation Lab. The Lab is tasked with exploration of cutting-edge AI technology (notably, generative AI), and helping HCSC realize value through application to practical business problems. The Senior Director will be responsible for executing proof-of-concept exercises, scaling solutions to meet business needs, and managing collaborative partnerships with external stakeholders. This role is situated within the Data Science & AI Solutions team at HCSC, the central hub of data science work within the organization.
Required Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 12 years of work experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics, or related quantitative field; OR 2 or more advanced degrees and 6 years of work experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics, or related quantitative field; OR Ph.D. and 4 years of work experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics, or related quantitative field; OR 11 years of work experience in an advanced mathematical, statistical, engineering, physics, or related quantitative field.
- Experience with generative AI technologies.
- Leadership and/or management experience.
- 5 years of management/leadership experience.
- Strong learning and growth mindset.
- Customer-focused approach.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience in at least five of the following areas: data analysis and relational-style query languages; machine learning and/or statistical modeling; data visualization; a high-level programming language; distributed computing; understanding of healthcare.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated track record of independently delivering or leading complex analytics or data science projects.
- Experience mentoring, managing, or leading analytics or data science staff.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field, or bachelor’s degree with healthcare experience.
- Experience with cloud-based cognitive services and cloud devops concepts.
NOTE: This is a hybrid position based out of Austin or Richardson, TX or Chicago, IL.
