R&D Embedded Software Architect

(Principal / Senior Software Engineer)

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer and system requirements to derive Software Architecture solutions which are clear and concise for software developers to implement and maintain.
• Coach, support and mentor Software Developers for technical topics
• Design efficient Software Architecture solutions to optimize dynamic run time performance as well as static aspects in terms of efficient software module reuse, RAM and ROM consumption, etc.
• Analyze technical problems from a viewpoint based on fundamental technical data and facts to analyze technical issues, requirements and change requests logically and systematically.
• Actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies such as daily standups, sprint planning and sprint demo
• Communicate and prepare technical presentations to the customers for quotations and technical issues when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Electronics and Electrical Engineering
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Able to conceptualize and visualize the high level view on system and software architecture levels complemented with hands-on experience to deep dive down to the code level when required.
• At least 5 years of practical hands-on experience as a Software Developer in embedded systems in C/C++
• Familiar with RTOS (Real Time Operating System) concepts such as scheduling algorithms (eg: Rate Monotonic, Round Robin, etc), task deadlines as well
• Practical experience with any open source or commercial RTOS frameworks (eg: FreeRTOS, AutoSAR OS, OSEK, etc)
• Experience in System and Software formal modelling languages such as SYSML and UML

R&D Senior / Embedded Software Engineer

(Medical electronics - Tuas West)

Responsibilities

• You will be part of a team of R&D engineers in Singapore including engineers from the Mechanical, Software, Electronics and Systems Engineering discipline.
• Develop Embedded software in C, C++ for 32-bit microcontrollers
• Develop and change-manage various levels of software requirements for medical devices (System and Module level)
• Work with stakeholders to identify and assess product risks (frequency, certainty, severity, and mitigations). Must have the ability to think clearly to root causes and make logical decisions.
• Should have the ability to recommend, convince, and implement the most pragmatic solutions.
• Evaluation and select system hardware and software architectures, designs, and parts.
• Ensure that they support all clinical/functional, operational, & financial requirements as well as overall product quality. Make definite recommendations and decisions via trade-off analyses.
• Involve in all aspects of software development cycle for medical devices in accordance with IEC62304
• When assigned, define architecture of the software, involve in risk assessment and failure mode analysis, develop code, review test plans and V&V results.
• Working knowledge of PCBA design, reading EE Schematics, understanding 3D product models and work with the hardware engineering team
• Working with internal and external partners including marketing & product management, systems engineering, project management, hardware engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, QA/RA, V&V teams
• Drafting requirements for external suppliers and tracking the deliverables to closure

Requirements

• Bachelors/Masters in Software or Electronics Engineering or related discipline
• Must have experience in launching at least 1 product from concept to commercialization
• Extremely hands-on in rigging up systems to make the software run/test the software
• Solid hands on understanding of RTOS, full stack working knowledge of I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, USB including debugging.
• Experienced in programming drivers and application for electromechanical parts like Pumps, Valves, Solenoids, Motors etc

Opportunity to for a Software Engineer to be part of our dynamic R&D team, to work on the frontend and back development for IOT/ Cloud solutions. The candidate should have prior experience in developing a web-based IOT device management platform. • Develop and maintain a web-based platform for monitoring and controlling IoT devices using React.js, Redux, JSX, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement features, ensuring the best possible user’s experience.
• Utilize microservices architecture and Java Spring Boot framework to design and develop the backend components.
• Package the application and services within a Docker container for deployment and scalability.
• Deploy the Dockerized application to AWS EC2 instances for hosting and ensure proper configuration and maintenance.
• Replicate the development environment using Docker and basic AWS services.
• Work with MySQL databases for data storage and retrieval, ensuring efficient and secure data management.
• Set up and maintain the Linux environment for development and deployment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding and experience in frontend development using React.js, Redux, JSX, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap.
• Proficiency in backend development with microservices architecture and Java Spring Boot framework.
• Familiarity with Docker for packaging and deploying applications.
• Basic knowledge of AWS services, particularly EC2, for hosting and infrastructure management.
• Experience working with MySQL databases and understanding of SQL queries and database management.
• Knowledge of Linux environment setup and administration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of other frontend frameworks and libraries.
• Certification in Cloud services (E.g., AWS – preferred, Azure, Google) is highly preferred.
