We're looking for an experienced Actuarial Specialist, Group Business within the Life and Health team of Munich Re Singapore Branch. You will be based in Singapore, with an oversight of the Southeast Asian markets. You will report to the Regional Head of Group Life and will be exposed to a multitude of responsibilities ranging from group pricing, case underwriting, inforce management, business development, projects and client management. This is also a client-facing role where you will communicate and work with internal and external clients.
Your role
- Responsible for ongoing group quotation activities and coordination, technical pricing and case underwriting for facultative group employee benefits schemes, group affinity schemes and group credit life schemes.
- Responsible for ongoing inforce management with the main focus on premium and claims reconciliation and validation.
- Responsible for ongoing group reinsurance treaty/account management, reporting and experience monitoring.
- Support the Regional Head of Group Life in multiple business development activities and planning.
- Manage assigned group accounts; establish new and foster existing business relationships; organise activities according to our client service plans and client prioritisation.
Your profile
- Actuarial degree is necessary with good progress in actuarial exams.
- 3 to 5 years of experience within the insurance and / or reinsurance industry is essential.
- Good understanding and extensive experience of the group life insurance business, benefits and practices in SEA markets.
- Previous working experience in actuarial reporting/valuation, experience study, reinsurance accounting or inforce management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill, investigative mindset and ability to analyse large amount of data
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and Power BI; familiarity with other data analytics tools and software will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent social skills and intercultural competence.
- Excellent time management skill, able to work independently and efficiently under time pressure, organised and self-driven.
- Fluency in both oral and written English. Proficiency in Chinese Mandarin, Bahasa and/or other Southeast Asian languages.
