We are seeking to appoint an experienced ’Senior Science technician’ to provide practical support in the science department with the preparation and laying out of apparatus, equipment and other materials for demonstrations in classes. The role will be 37 hours per week, term time only plus the school training days. This role reports to the Head of Science. We will consider applications from less experienced science technicians which would be paid at SC2 (3-4) £22,737-£23,114) pro rata.

Achieved an A*-E grade in a science related A-level plus an A*-E grade in A-level maths OR the Extended Diploma L3 in Applied Science at grade DDD or better

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Science Technician to join our large, friendly and highly successful Science Department. Ideally, the successful applicant will have suitable qualifications and / or knowledge / experience in the Biological Sciences to A Level.
The post holder will be required to work during term time, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am to 4.30pm. They may also be required to work on staff training (TED) days, with these additional hours being claimed for via timesheets.

This will include delivering collaborative planning sessions and continuing to develop the curriculum. • To support TLR holders in ensuring full coverage and pedagogy informed by best practice, teaching for mastery and quality first, inclusive teaching. • To be a mentor for ECTs within the department. • To continue to foster the culture of positivity within the department and inspire and support colleagues as needed. • To maintain a positive and forward-looking team-based approach to ensuring the best possible provision for all students.
