Calf Milk Farm Research Technician
Are you passionate about the excellent care of animals? Are you hard working and love to work on a team? This role is located at our farm which is the Purina Animal Nutrition Center. It is the home of scientific research and innovation for the last 125 years, where we continually work to unlock the greatest potential of every animal.
This is a permanent part-time position working with calves.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: working safely and efficiently with calves, feeding calves, giving vaccinations and injections, power washing, general clean up, identifying illness in calves, data collection, and other duties as assigned. Employees will be required to be fitted for a half-mask respirator.
Required qualifications/competencies:
- High school diploma or GED
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Basic computer skills
- Work on your feet for 5+ hours at a time
Preferred experience:
- Animal care experience, livestock preferred
- Ability to operate skid steer preferred.
Shift: A combination of these shifts in a given week- you will be notified of your schedule 2 weeks in advance.
PT: 1st shift is 6am – 11am & 2nd shift is 4:30pm – 7:30pm
Some weekends and holidays required.
Hourly Rate: $17.00
