Title:

KBR is looking for a SAR Algorithm R&D Technical Engineer to join a Government customer in Washington D.C.  The Customer is responsible for pushing the boundaries of capabilities to support the Navy and Intelligence Community with an emphasis on National Systems to develop new concepts for collection and exploitation by bridging the gap between R&D and Enterprise operations.

Responsibilities:

• Candidates provide technical analyses and support in developing and applying advanced methods, theories and research techniques on R&D through operational support projects.
• Provide demonstrated skill in conceiving, planning and conducting research and analysis in difficult technological problem areas of considerable scope and complexity requiring unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated research techniques. 
• Candidates will have demonstrated an ability to make decisions independently on research and development (R&D) engineering problems and methods, in resolving important questions, and planning and coordinating work. 
• Support algorithm and analytical development using a variety of scientific programming languages (for example C, C++, Python, FORTRAN and MATLAB) to process synthetic aperture radar data (SAR). Work independently and as a member of a project team to provide remote sensing and geospatial expertise in response to technical requests for information from DoD and Intelligence Community analysts.
• This includes analysis of relevant data through existing applications as well as advice and guidance on best practices for new data acquisition and exploitation methodologies to address customer essential elements of information.  The focus of these efforts is to assist in transitioning new techniques into routine, operational use. 
• Support ad hoc studies & analyses in an R&D environment.
• As needed, act as a Technical POC for procurements.

Qualifications

• Degree:  Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics
• Minimum Experience:  Bachelor’s + 6 years of experience ; Master’s + 4 ; PhD + 2
• Comfortable with MATLAB and Python
• Demonstrated experience in the use of advanced techniques, theories, precepts, and practices in a scientific or technological discipline
• SAR knowledge preferred but not required if you have experience with Signal Processing or Machine Learning

Security Clearance Requirements:  Must be able to obtain a top secret clearance with a CI polygraph.

Title:

KBR is seeking a R&D Architect Support Engineer/Systems Engineer. This position will serve as a technical member of a dynamic systems engineering team supporting the NRO Ground Directorate (GED)/Advanced Ground Group (AGG) organization.  The candidate will support the Applied Research & Development (R&D) acquisition, integration and test initiatives with a specific focus area.   Specifically, the candidate will support pathfinding and transition of applications and mission capabilities to the operations environment for Multi-Intelligence hard intelligence problems. 

Responsibilities include:

• Provide Day-to-Day collaboration with the Government Customer, FFRDC teams, SETA and GED development contractors as well as External Agency mission partners
• Provide oversight, monitor development and integration activities and ensure alignment of priorities and resources consistent with US Government requirements and objectives
• Analyze a wide variety of mission thread projects for impact on the existing and planned system architecture
• Assist in ensuring decisions about AGG R&E Systems are consistent with an open-architecture construct
• Advise Senior and mid-level US Government managers on acquisition decisions regarding a portfolio of AGG projects
• Support technical consultation, meeting coordination, and prepare and present architecture and acquisition recommendation briefings
• Establish and maintain the System View-1 (SV-1) Systems Interface Description document baseline linking together the operational and systems architecture
• This position requires an understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, along with a strong focus on core systems engineering processes in support of end-to-end mission and services closure

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. in engineering, physics or related technical degree or relevant experience
• Experience in space/ground aerospace systems engineering
• Knowledge of system architectures, architecture evolution and interface definition
• Demonstrated knowledge of the NRO with special emphasis on Ground Systems
• At least 35 years’ experience with space/ground testing and systems engineering, systems integration, Verification, Validation and Transition (IVV&T) activities
• Experience supporting agile software development and verification strategies and integration of new systems and initiatives in support of expanded mission capabilities
• Experience with test strategies and plans, executing tests, analyzing data and summarizing results

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with architecting in an agile software development paradigm
• Demonstrated understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Ability to perform architecture analysis, trades, and system integration closure activities
• Experience within an acquisition office in the NRO, NGA or related Intelligence Community
• Prior experience with NRO ground mission processing or mission control systems, and/or mission operations is highly desired
• Experience with commercial IVV&T techniques in service-oriented architecture (SOA) environments is also highly desirable
• Experience interacting with User Community across a wide variety of intelligence and phenomenology disciplines

Title:

KBR is seeking a highly motivated and career-oriented Research & Development Contracts Lead to join our team.   This position will support our government customer in Washington DC Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide the customer recommendations on appropriate contract type for Research and Development projects being issued to develop innovative technologies.

• Assist the customer in performing Market Research associated with the various area of interest.

• Assist the customer in establishing the contracts and associated contract related documentation to include Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposals (RFP)

• Assists the customer in evaluating proposals from various offerors for Research and Development efforts.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (Business Development, Contracts or related field)

• 8+ years of experience with Federal government contracting

• DAWIA Level III or related professional certification

• 5+ years of IC experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of contracting procedures, types, and methods, including formal advertising, negotiation, fixed-price, grants and cost contracting.

• Demonstrated knowledge of cost and price procedures to evaluate offers and responsibility of contractors on the basis of competition, historical costs, reports from auditors or technical specialists, contractor cost breakdowns regarding labor, materials, overhead, and profit, or other evaluation criteria and selection processes where the information is usually available.

• Experience developing and accessing Market Research, Request for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP)

• Knowledgeable in the application of related laws, regulations, policies, precedents, methods, complexities, and techniques of federal contracting, to include the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and the IARPA Government agency acquisition process.
