The role:
As a Business Improvement Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Within an energetic and diverse team working to challenging timescales to deliver transformation projects / programmes in different functions and sectors across defence in the UK.
Day-to-day, you'll be reporting to the central Devonport Business Improvement function and be accountable to the Business Improvement (BI) Manager. Tasking will be the responsibility of the Transformation Programme Lead for the allocated project / programme. In addition to this you can expect:
- Supporting process improvement projects within the function, and work with specialists and leads to implement improvement plans.
- Providing analysis of data on useful information and insights including performance against plan.
- Supporting project activities applying a structured approach and process, ensuring the use of the correct tools and techniques to deliver project(s) through the lifecycle.
- Establishing trusting relationships with the business's key leaders and stakeholders, to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas, information and coordinated activity across the project / programme.
- Ability to perform a range of assignments using established approaches to analyse and resolve problems.
This role is full time 35, hours per week and is based at on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Business Improvement Specialist:
- Experience and understanding of project management (preferably PMQ) and the delivery of projects.
- Experience in project management with knowledge of related disciplines e.g. change management and lean working.
- Knowledge and understanding of organisational change models such as Kotter's, Lewin's, 7-S Model, nudge theory etc.
- Experience of analysis of data to provide useful information and insights including performance against plan.
- Ability to work well with small teams as well as a wider groups of stakeholders. Fostering teamwork and collaboration.
Qualifications for the Business Improvement Specialist:
- Qualified to a degree level or be able to demonstrate a career-based knowledge and experience.
Must have one of the following:
- APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
- APMG Change Management Foundation.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
