• Drafts correspondence and provides background information to assist in responding to Congressional inquiries, government officials, lenders, law firms, and borrowers; accesses files and databases, and conducts searches in a variety of legal and non-legal databases.
• Conducts research of legislation, regulations, and precedent for complex cases, such as those requiring research of statutory, regulatory, court and/or administrative precedents, and other legal opinion or documentary materials.

As a Data Scientist (Direct-Hire), you will perform the following duties:

• Assesses project action plans and ensure compliance with project and, or program requirements; anticipates timeline challenges and bottlenecks, establish milestones; and establishes working relationships with the project owners and stakeholders for overall data science resolution of complex issues/problems.
• Translates the results of complex analysis into clear, actionable communications that equip Agency decision makers to make informed, data-driven decisions about product development and strategy. Presents the results of quantitative analyses to non- technical audiences.
• Uses appropriate analytic and statistical software to programmatically prepare data for analysis and clean imperfect data such as probabilistic matching and imputation of missing values.
• Solves technical problems by choosing the appropriate tools and explaining data architecture and design to both technical and non-technical audiences and delivers reports and relevant information to support the needs of leadership, agency, and policy/project teams.

• Executes decision-making authorities and establishes vision and direction for the Agency's cyber and cyber-related resources and/or operations.
• Bolsters cybersecurity by ensuring the Agency is increasing the safety and security of SBA services, and implementing the requirements contained in the Executive Order on Improving the Nation's Cybersecurity, as well as the Federal Zero Trust Strategy.
• Leads development, planning, coordination, administration, management, staffing and supervision of the information security and privacy operations related to SBA-wide IT security and privacy programs.
• Leads the effort to maximize the integration between FISMA reporting and certification and accreditation to ensure increased continuous monitoring and remediation of IT systems' threats and vulnerabilities.
• Assure information systems and associated facility provides a level of security that is commensurate with the risk and magnitude of the harm that could result from the loss, misuse, disclosure, or modification of the information contained in the system.
• Advance cybersecurity by overseeing and supporting Agency implementation of Zero Trust plans and execute the Executive Order on Improving the Nation's Cybersecurity.
• Facilitate information security risk assessment and risk management processes.
