Outline of the role

The Retail Apprenticeship will involve working in our store as a full -time team member, helping with every aspect of creating a great customer experience and learning about how a retailer operates their business. It is a great experience working in a fast-paced and fun environment that will prepare you for even bigger challenges. Outline of the role

The Retail Apprenticeship will involve working in our store as a full -time team member, helping with every aspect of creating a great customer experience and learning about how a retailer operates their business. It is a great experience working in a fast-paced and fun environment that will prepare you for even bigger challenges. Savers Sales Assistants are extremely important to us, we recognise that you could be our Supervisors of tomorrow. We will actively develop your skills and offer real career progression supported by our excellent in-house training.

Duties will include:

· Demonstrating exceptional customer service

· Understanding the business and maintaining the brand reputation

· Resolving customer queries

· Using knowledge to promote products to customers

· Highlighting promotional offers to work towards achieving sales targets

· Supporting promotion changes and stock rotation

Your training will take place in store over the 1st 12 months so, no college days and no homework! At the end of your training period you will complete a discussion around your experiences, a multiple -choice test and an observation within your role. You will be supported throughout by your team and your assessor to achieve your Retailer Level 2 Apprenticeship

You qualify if ...

· You have a grade 4 / C GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths

· You are not currently in any form of education and you are available for full time shifts

· You HAVEN’T completed a Retail Apprenticeship before

· You have not completed a degree or more than 1 year at University

· You are eligible to work in the UK

· You are brand new to retail

Pay rate: £8.65 per hour

Hours: 39 hours a week on a 13 month contract

Business Support Assistant

Fixed Term, Full Time

£23,344 per annum

Location: Chelmsford

Closing Date: Tuesday 27th August 2024 at 11.59pm

Please note that this position is being offered as a Fixed Term Contract / Secondment for a period of 6 months.

This position has been classed as an anywhere worker role but has an expectation that the successful candidate will attend the office, in Chelmsford 2-3 day per week, with the remaining time allowing for remote working if desired. Working Monday to Friday.

The Opportunity

Essex County Council (ECC) is one of the largest and most dynamic local authorities in the UK and is undergoing significant transformational change to further enhance customer focus, service and delivery. As part of this, the Business Support team will work in specialised Business Centres to promote specialised knowledge and improved service and efficiencies.

The Business Support Assistant works as part of a business support team to deliver effective, routine administrative support to a team or service. Learning and developing an understanding of existing processes and systems, with a good basic knowledge of the Function. Providing routine clerical support to a team/service/Function (e.g., word processing, data entry, updating databases, meeting support, meet and greet, directing customer queries).

Managing day to day work, ensuring this meets ECC and local policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

• Providing high quality, efficient and effective Business Support services to internal customers within agreed timescales and SLAs.
• Responding to customer requests and queries in a timely and efficient way.
• Acting as a professional representative of the Business Support service at a local level, dealing with customers via telephone calls personally or redirecting in line with Essex customer standards.
• Providing high quality self-directed clerical support, checking own work and proactively looking to raise standards.
• Maintaining confidential records according to Essex County Council policy and guidance.
• Providing support to the team or service with the organisation of events, conferences and workshops to ensure high quality events.
• Providing support across the team or service in dealing with correspondence, providing meeting support in terms of documentation and finance support in all aspects of documentation processing, in a timely, consistent, and professional manner.
• Sharing knowledge and good practice with colleagues and highlighting more efficient ways of delivering customer service.

The Experience You Will Bring

Essential:

• Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE) including maths and English or an equivalent vocational qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Evidence of the ability to develop skills and knowledge in role.
• Demonstrable experience and competence of MS Office applications and their practical application.
• Ability to use computerised systems with a high level of speed and accuracy.

Desirable:

• Previous experience of managing electronic or hard copy filing systems.
• Ability to communicate in a manner which is easily understood and tailored to meet the needs of the audience.
• Experience of dealing with sensitive and/or personal information.
• Ability to take ownership of work and fulfil agreed commitments, checking work for accuracy.

Location: Basildon
Hours per Week: 16 hours with the opportunity to work more hours.
Shift pattern: Part-time - flexible shift patterns across mornings; afternoons; evenings and weekends, which will be discussed further at interview  
Salary: £8.65 - £11.90 per hour
