Job Title: Windows and Database Operations Engineer (OS and DB Patching, Monitoring, Configuration Management)
Responsibilities:
- Perform patch management for Windows servers and database systems to ensure security compliance and system stability.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Configure and maintain monitoring tools to ensure visibility into system health and performance metrics.
- Implement and maintain configuration management processes to standardize system configurations and ensure consistency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operating system and database-related issues in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and updates to the infrastructure.
- Document operational procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Requirements:
- Local Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows and database operations roles.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell scripting.
- Extensive experience with database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Databases.
- Knowledge of patch management best practices and experience with patch deployment tools (e.g., Ivanti, Tanium).
- Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios or SolarWinds.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Bonus Skills:
- Industry certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
