As the Sr. Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for covering a large territory and will focus on a defined target list of physicians/practitioners within the territory. The Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist will focus on the total office call to assure the needs of all partners are met within compliance guidelines and must be able to develop relationships and maintain an active presence in the Pharmaceutical community and associated organizations.

Territory encompasses: Northern New Jersey and Chinatown in New York.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Build disease awareness with key partners, validated understanding of treatment initiation processes, patient identification, etc. 

• Collaborate with partners, internally and externally, on prior authorization, payor restrictions, reimbursement stipulations, and patient referrals to support patient access. 

• Manage the sales budget and grow sales across the territory through development of impactful territory plan and engaging communications. 

• Employ business planning and local market knowledge to develop sales and customer networks. 

• Grow relationships and communications with all partners and communities to develop solid understanding of treatment algorithm and business dynamics within accounts. 

• Implement compliant and medically relevant programs to effect significant customer satisfaction and sales. 

• Cover and visit all customers in the area of responsibility according to their importance and potential.  

• Manages accounts for all business related aspects (sales, negotiation, development, relation with owner and managers, define solutions for customer needs). 

• Develop excellent and fruitful relations with customers and opinion leaders.  

• Participate, develop and conduct different meetings and events (congresses, round tables, trainings). 

• Establish and present action plans in order to achieve sales target.  

• Plan and track agreed account metrics and communicate clearly the progress of monthly/quarterly.  

• Keeps constant touch on market evolution.  

• Organize trainings, educational programs and product presentations. 

• Prospect the market for new accounts and identify grow opportunities.  

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 2 Years of Relevant Experience

We are looking for our next District Sales Manager supporting the Vision Care Sales team, in our Upstate New York Market. As a District Sales Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of Account Managers who sell Alcon’s portfolio of Vision Care products to Eye Care Practitioners including our best-selling line of contact lenses.

**This territory includes a majority of upstate New York, Eastern Ohio and Northern, PA. Ideal candidates will be located near Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY and Albany, NY**

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Hire, develop, coach and train Account Managers to meet or exceed Alcon’s sales, financial and territory management objectives
• Strengthen your team through coaching conversations during co-travels and business reviews, training, and on-boarding activities
• Drive sales results through your knowledge of the market, customers, competitors and Alcon product, sales skills, and prioritization of activities
• Increase performance results by applying data insights from sales tools and feedback from customers and participating in field co-travels.
• Assess the talent landscape and champion growth and development via performance assessments and career discussions
• Mentor and assist team members to build and implement a strategic plan and routing schedule for their territory to capitalize on revenue from the highest potential customers
• Provide Program strategic direction to Account Managers and Practice Experience Managers by applying both market and Alcon sales data by channel and product.
• Lead in District/Regional/National meetings

Key Performance Indicators:

• Attainment of quarterly and annual sales quotas for assigned District
• Call metrics including reach and frequency to targeted accounts
• Compliance to regulations

What you’ll bring to Alcon:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs.; Assoc.+9 yrs.; M.S.+2 yrs.; PhD+1 yr.)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• 5 Years of Relevant Experience
• 3 Years of Demonstrated Leadership

Work hours: Monday-Friday, Daytime hours with occasional evening events

Travel Requirements: 50% within District (Variable by Market) including regular overnights
