The Department
Capital Markets IT (CMI) is the IT department within the bank focused on solutions related to Capital Markets. Capital Markets IT involves technology solutions and systems used in financial markets for trading, investment, and related activities. This includes electronic trading platforms, risk management systems, market risk, counterparty risk, algorithmic trading, data analytics, and Regulatory measures. The use of advanced technologies like cloud and artificial intelligence is also becoming increasingly prevalent in capital markets to enhance efficiency and decision-making processes.
Main Responsibilities
As part of the IS Strategy the Principal Engineering Architect coordinates the elaboration of the IS Strategy, in partnership with the Head of IT Division and the Head of division. You ensure its consistency with the global CMI and GMD IS Strategy and its execution within CMI – led by CMI Architecture Team.
To reach this objective, you chair the Technical Community, composed of the Technical leaders of his IT Division. You will be contributing to CMI technical strategy definition as well as technical foundations. You identify your division’s technical needs and requirements, ensures they are addressed/covered by technical foundations (when relevant) and contributes to market watch / experimentations.
You will be ensuring success criteria are defined upfront to promote alignment and actively manage to expected project outcomes in line with the program outcomes.
As part of an integrated organization across 3 main sites (Paris, SQY, Singapore), you will forge close relationships with program director, others team leads, architecture functions and quality assurance teams. There will be a limited travel aspect to this role (approx. 25%).
A strong maturity in project management is required as you will be part of the project committee, reporting the progress highlights with key performance indicator, evaluating risk assessment and proposing mitigation, ensuring transparency throughout project lifecycle.
Leads technical Information System Strategy
· Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, co-create, and document business requirements and the overall business strategy
· Collaborate with each business line to define technology roadmaps, technical architecture and the execution plans for technical components with a focus on Data and Business Processes (services)
· Present strategic technology roadmap and evolution of our capabilities to heads of business. Reach agreements on their alignments with business goals and mid-term strategy and confirm business value delivered by investment in technologies.
Leads technical studies for the most critical projects of the IT Division
· Contribute to the technology strategy and architecture of Capital Markets in support of our digital transformation (Cloud, API, data, Artificial Intelligent and security) and shift towards digital services and data-centricity
· Ensure architecture decisions adhere to transformation drivers and architecture principles during the architecture practice lifecycle
· Take a modern approach to technology architecture practice, incorporating DDD (Domain Driven Design) and Evolutionary Architecture approaches alignment with the digital transformation strategy of CACIB.
· Discover, define and model technical architecture design in collaboration with technology & business stakeholders
· Contribute to the definition of technical components, their data domains and associated data products for analytical consumption
· Propose executable technical solutions where data is treated as a primary concern in the field of data, contributing to the development of a Data architecture using the concepts of Domain Driven Design and Data Mesh.
Supports the Technical Leaders in their technical activities
· Within the community of CMI architects, take a leadership role in leading technology working groups to feed and improve our vision and to implement accelerators.
· Ensures continuous Technical learning of its Technical Community, especially on Craftsmanship and DevOPS practices
· The position requires autonomy and reliability in performing duties while maintaining close communication with rest of project/support team.
Qualifications and Profile
Mandatory
· At least 12+ years of experience in Information Technology arena with demonstrated experience around strategic planning, enterprise architecture preferably in banking & financial services, risk management and software engineering.
· Experienced in leading technical design from inception to proof of concept
· Good knowledge of strategic IT solutions and hands-on experience in software development.
· A strong understanding of latest programming languages including Python, Java, Rust and Go
· Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures, with strong fundamentals in complexity analysis
· Experience in platform and/or product definition, operating model and change management
· Strong ability to analyze code – understand execution flow & debug even
· Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, MLOps and tooling
Good to Have
· Understanding of trade life cycle, financial products (Treasury, FX, Bonds, Credit, IRD…)
· Exposure to Capital Market FO/BO system
· Understanding the complexity of internal relationships within a large corporate, you are comfortable at proactively engaging key stakeholders, managing individual concerns in order to propose achievable and comprehensive “high level plans”.
