Salary: $73,150-$85,000 plus super

We have two large production facilities located in Braeside and 17 retail outlets (around Melbourne), with a reputation built on quality and innovation. The business is dynamic and continues to grow at speed.
As the Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will play a key role in food technology processes, from developing product specifications to optimizing production methods to ensure our products consistently meet the highest quality and safety standards. You will also oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, quality assurance protocols, and food safety standards across our two production facilities and 18 retail outlets.
The key responsibilities will include:
Overall responsibility of QMS system for Laurent Bakery Group, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices specific to food technology.
Conduct practical experimental work applying scientific methodology to process improvement and optimisation
Oversee the scheduling of microbiological and nutritional testing and coordinate product sensory panels for quality assessment.
Provide specialized advice on food safety practices, troubleshoot production issues, and support retail operations with technical expertise to maintain high quality standards across food preservation, processing, packaging, storage, and delivery.
Create and manage product specification, design and realisation for various SKUs e.g. Breads, Pastry, Cake, Savoury.
Manage Pest Control Program across Laurent Bakery Group
Review and write compliance procedures and documents against an array of food safety and compliance standards.
Lead and mentor a team of seven QA members across two production facilities fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
Train and monitor all staff on site e.g. hygiene, health and safety etc
Lead and manage process and product Improvement and liaise with internal and external stakeholders for NPD Projects.
Regularly review and update the QMS, manage 2nd and 3rd party audits, and compile reports on daily manufacturing KPIs to track and enhance performance.
Management of customer complaints and trend analysis of complaint per million units.
Experience and Qualifications required:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in food science and technology or similar.
Minimum of 4 years in food technology and quality assurance roles within the food production industry.
Strong knowledge of food ingredient functionality and product formulation.
Be familiar with CFMSR and BRC and experienced in dealing with major retailers.
Have hands on approach to all aspects of food quality and safety management.
Be highly motivated and able to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
