The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.

• Plans and conducts independent examinations and related investigations of a variety of individual and business taxpayers involving complex tax issues and accounting records and typical methods.
• Classifies and screens individual and business tax returns and allowance cases showing changes in tax liability and selects those which have the highest potential for audit.
• Classifies returns received as the result of transfers, special handling requirements, or collateral requests.
• Reviews collection and criminal investigation referrals for examination potential.
• Provides technical support and training as a coordinator of programs between compliance and other departments within the Internal Revenue Service.

• Responsible for developing and accomplishing fire prevention inspections and developing an education program in assigned areas of responsibility at the installation.
• Conducts physical inspections of large, complex, and highly fire prone post and range facilities including mission related facilities.
• Determines potential fire hazards, existing fire hazards, and works with operating officials, project officers, etc., to eliminate, prevent, or reduce the hazards.
• Incumbent inspect fire protection systems that include automatic heat detection, automatic smoke detection, and dry chemical extinguishers, wet pipe sprinklers, dry pipe sprinklers, pre-action sprinklers, and deluge systems.
• Reviews work requests involving alteration and extension of existing facilities.
• Develops special educational materials and programs for the building coordinators required.
• Serves as a fully trained member of a firefighting crew engaged in the protection of life and property.
• Serves as certified Hazardous Material Technician, responding to hazardous chemical spills on the Installation.

Directs a highly technical workforce, including functionally integrated teams of operational and support personnel, that provides air traffic control services throughout a geographic area. The work impacts the safe, orderly. and expeditious movement of aircraft as well as segments of the aviation industry. Continuously reviews work processes to assure that results meet the agency's mission and the customer's needs, add value to facility services, and are efficiently achieved. Provides training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates, and is responsible for team building throughout the facility. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates. Sets and adjusts long and short-term priorities. The primary purpose of this position is: To ensure quality characteristics are met for product quality verification on aircraft, systems, and products. Also to provide effective and comprehensive oversight and management of a government contract program located in the 301st Fighter Wing.

• Develops and implements a structured and systematic quality assurance surveillance program for all facets of integrated logistics support, providing maintenance managers with the assurance that propulsion system contractors, fleet maintainers, fleet operators, program office engineers and logisticians, and airworthiness authority delegates adhere to customer required specifications in technical, safety, deliverables, and reporting directives
• Consolidates data collection processes for clear and concise reporting, utilized by all levels in the management chain for evaluation, inspection, and audit programs. Independently evaluates the results and, where necessary, recommends the most appropriate corrective action to command level management
• Reviews aircraft field sustainment repairs and maintenance, gathers metrics and prepares reports to initiate corrective action if results indicate contract standards or performance requirements are not met
• Identifies and documents vulnerabilities within the inspection and acceptance of supplies/service to ensure safety of flight

The Operations Supervisor reports to the Air Traffic Manager. Performance is evaluated upon the effectiveness with which assigned program objectives are achieved.

This is a career ladder progression position; the duties described below are at the GS-11 level. If selected at a grade below GS-11, the incumbent will serve in a developmental capacity, wherein the work is less complex in nature and the supervisor, or a senior level employee provides specific instruction and guidance. At the GS-11 grade level, the incumbent:

• Independently conducts a wide variety of onsite safety and health inspections and investigations of mining operations as applicable, mills, preparation plants and related facilities.
• Prepares written reports of inspections and investigations, issuing citations and orders for violations found during examinations.
• Promotes safety and health among mine operators and workers by directing and participating in safety and health training programs, meetings, demonstrations, mine rescue competitions, and related activities.
• Provides technical advice and guidance to mine operators to help them solve problems and comply with mine safety and health requirements.
• Assists mine operators in the planning of modifications to improve and/or correct deficiencies in the operation such as selecting and installing new equipment and changing materials or methods.
• Promotes safety and health among mine operators and workers by directing and participating in safety and health training programs, meetings, demonstrations, mine rescue competitions, and related activities.
• Serves as a MSHA representative and information source on mine safety and health.
• Testifies at judicial hearings regarding notices of violations and orders of withdrawal.

Work Environment: The incumbent inspects and/or investigates both surface and underground mining operations as applicable, which is a very hazardous and stressful work environment surrounded by a high risk of exposure to potentially dangerous situations. In addition to the characteristically dark, wet, and cramped environment, underground mines contain noxious gases and fumes, and the danger of potentially explosive dust or gases, electrical fires, roof falls, and exposure to radiation.

• Performs strategic assessments necessary to continue assembly and sustained operations of the International Space Station (ISS), Artemis, Gateway, or the Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP).
• Leads coordination on the implementation of Federal and Agency aerospace safety standards and requirements that are applicable to aerospace and aeronautical programs and vehicle systems operations.
• Supports policy development, requirements analysis and definition, technical evaluations and makes recommendations to management within their functional and/or technical area of expertise.
• Recommends ways to resolve technical difficulties that can be overcome by changes in approach, criteria or requirements.
• Reviews, assesses, and makes recommendations to Program and Division Offices regarding integrated hazard analyses, risk assessments and evaluations of operations safety to ensure compliance with approved requirements to minimize operational risks.
• Conducts branch or group meetings/reviews for design reviews as a technical lead.

• Performs airborne flight inspection of ground based National Airspace System (NAS) navigational aids (NAVAIDS) using airborne electronic flight inspection equipment and specialized test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
• Performs comprehensive Air Traffic Service (ATS) equipment quality assurance inspections at Army airfields and facilities worldwide.
• Monitors the operational status of navigational aids, landing, lighting, and communications systems throughout the Army and establishes and maintains comprehensive flight inspection report data for all Army owned systems.
• Coordinates initial and follow-on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) training from inception through to certification as a flight inspection technician.
