The Quality Inspector role is to work as part of a team of multi-skilled Inspectors in a diverse manufacturing environment covering Aerospace product, Investment Castings, Mechanical and Electrical components and Composites.

Your main responsibilities:

• Mechanical / Electrical inspection of Aerospace product
• In Process Inspection
• First Article Inspection
• Work on own initiatives and resolve any issues or problems in line with company procedures
• Undertake investigation of quality issues to resolution, in conjunction with all necessary internal/external bodies relating to product/process/system. These may be initiated by internal or external customers
• Maintenance of Quality Records and Metrics
• Support shop floor with Technical issues if required
• Auditing of Approved Operators
• Support training of others in products and processes for your area
• Because of the changing nature of our business your job description will inevitably change. From time to time, you will be required to undertake other activities that fall within your capabilities as directed by management.
• You will be required to undertake all responsibilities above in line with your Grade.

Requirements:

• Able to use Measuring Equipment
• Able to interpret Engineering Drawings
• Experience of Goods In Inspection and processes advantageous

Job Title: NDT Level 2 Inspector
Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 4:45 pm; Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm; 9Early and Late rotationg shifts after probabation period)
Job Type: Full Time; Permanent
Salary: Competitive + Shift Premium
Location: South Molton

You will be accountable for processing and inspecting products in accordance with engineering technical drawings and specifications.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience with Aerospace castings/welds and the knowledge to ensure compliance with governing drawings/specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests and interpret, evaluate and document results in accordance with company procedures and Quality Acceptance Standards.
• Be familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which they are approved and be able to apply detailed techniques to components relevant to the scope of the qualification.
• Have the skills and knowledge to conduct process control checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
• Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel.
• Have basic knowledge of the product technology encountered at the company and be familiar with the type and location of expected discontinuities.
• Be familiar with the codes, standards, specifications and other contractual documents that control the methods used by the company and translate them into practical testing instructions adapted to actual working conditions.
• Be capable of compiling written instructions in satisfaction of those documents, for the methods in which are approved.
• Technical Proficiency and approved to perform all aspects of Penetrant Inspection to Level 2.
• Contributes to improvement activities through input to Procedures, Work Instructions, Standard Operations.
• Willing to move around the department supporting multi-skilling.
• Liaise with the NDT Team leader on a regular basis on audit findings and improvement proposals.
• Supports all H&S requirements and Safety, Process checks.
• Engage and Support improvement activity - is an active driver of ELSS tools in their respective area.

Requirements:

• Previous L2 Qualification in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection
• Other NDT experience advantageous)
• Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings/specifications
• Competent in using different measurement tools
• Good level of computer literacy
• Experience in Aerospace Industry advantageous
• Knowledge of COSHH (forming part of company's MESH procedure)

• Assist the quality team, utilising the VNA tester.
• Assisting with CMM programming and utilising the CMM to assist production activities.

Opportunity for progression:

• Managing technical documentation, reviewing all drawings and specifications to meet customer requirements.
• Assisting in the development and testing of prototypes.
• To assist production and engineering team to manage and execute production projects.
• Liaise with the engineering team on all production requirements and capabilities for any new projects.
• Assist in implementing and maintain SOP's.
• Assist the sales department to ensure contract reviews are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist in BOM reviews.
• Assist in all mechanical design activities. Working alongside engineering to ensure all data, information and specification sheets are adhered to and communicated through to production and quality.
