Our client, a not-for-profit housing association require a Head of Building Safety and Compliance Manager. The role is working on a FTC basis for 6 months reporting into the Director of Building Safety and Compliance.

As a member of the senior compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring all compliance across the Group. Ensuring all legislation is met and properties are safe and compliant.
The role oversees field based building safety and compliance teams that are based nationally. The role can be worked on a hybrid/remote basis with alignment to a local office including travel as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
As Head of Building Safety and Compliance Manager you will:-

•Manage the Building Safety Team and ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act
•Manage the compliance for all properties to include high rise buildings ensuring the adherence to the Building Safety Act
•Managing a team of c 10 people within the Compliance team
•Deliver the strategic plan across the Group through managing and developing your teams, building relationships, and working with key stakeholders
•Take the lead on developing, delivery and maintenance of the national framework of compliance
•Keep up to date and informed with emerging legislation and technologies to manage risks
•Ensure a zero-tolerance policy to non-conformance is maintained
•Be responsible for reporting and analysis providing assurance to the Executive team and the Board

REQUIREMENTS

As Head of Building Safety and Compliance Manager you will have:-

•Significant experience working for a Housing Association or Local authority in a senior leadership role
•Strong strategic leadership experience with substantial experience of managing geographically dispersed teams
•Strong communication skills with proven experience of senior stakeholder liaison and relationship building including report writing and analysis for the Board and Executive
•Qualifications to include CIOB Level 6, RICS, NEBOSH, and experience with high-rise buildings would be highly desirable
•Previous experience in a similar role with knowledge of the Building Safety Act with strong technical knowledge
•Previous experience of Contractor management
•Full driving licence with the flexibility to travel nationally to meetings and offices as required

We are working alongside a well-established Social Housing Contractor who are looking for a Regional Compliance Co-ordinator to join their team.

They help clients to compliantly deliver PAS retrofit projects through all relevant funding streams including the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.

Reporting into the Compliance & Finance Manager, you will actively assist in the development and implementation of retrofit compliance and help manage quality and compliance regional teams to collate and audit evidence required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage compliance administrator and supporting project quality administrators
• Work closely with internal teams to identify and manage evidence required for each scheme
• Manage project level data and reporting to ensure compliance and new project set-ups
• Provide reporting in line with project KPI's.
• Liaise with subcontractors and project teams and manage relationships with Clients, Retrofit Coordinators; Assessors; and Designers
• Support the delivery of PAS compliance training and knowledge
• Assist in lodgements of PAS/MCS measures in conjunction project teams
• Visit projects, attend internal team and external stakeholder meetings
• Helping implement new quality and compliance processes and procedures
• Research and develop knowledge base of key funding streams and PAS requirements

Mechanical Project Supervisor - Legionella

Purpose of the RoleThe Mechanical Project Supervisor will manage building and maintenance projects, providing technical specialist advice in Mechanical Building Services Engineering. The role ensures that all work is carried out efficiently, meeting performance specifications and quality standards, with a particular focus on water hygiene and legionella compliance.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Technical Specialist:

• Provide expert advice in Building Services Engineering (mechanical).
• Oversee compliance, servicing, and projects involving heating, hot water generation, hot and cold-water services, air conditioning services, and commercial kitchens.
• Manage quarterly water hygiene control tasks and ensure compliance with water hygiene and legionella regulations.

Project Management:

• Oversee mechanical engineering services and construction project delivery.
• Prepare reports, estimates, specifications, drawings, and work schedules for quotations or tendering.
• Ensure projects are delivered to the required specification, quality, and budget.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all property and construction work complies with relevant statutory legislation, codes of practice, and professional guidance documents.
• Conduct regular quality audits and address any areas where quality does not meet specified standards.
• Ensure compliance with the most recent CDM regulations, assuming the Principal Designer Role as required.

Communication and Coordination:

• Ensure effective communication and coordination between all disciplines, parties, and teams involved in projects.
• Represent the Service Manager at meetings and discussions as required.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Ideally, a HNC or equivalent level qualification in Mechanical Plumbing and Heating or Mechanical Building Services.
• Extensive experience in building services maintenance, ideally a track record of overseeing compliance, servicing, and projects involving heating, hot water generation, hot and cold water services, air conditioning services, and commercial kitchens.
• Experience of managing quarterly water hygiene control tasks and ensuring compliance with water hygiene and legionella regulations.
• Experience of managing and ensuring building compliance according to regulations and good practice.
• Sound knowledge of IT software applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to monitor progress and meet performance targets.
