The Role
As a Cost Control Lead, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Supporting the delivery of vital military capability. Your work will directly contribute to shaping the future of Submarines within the UK.
This role will play a crucial part in managing the financial aspects of the Dreadnought project through to completion, such as cost forecasting, cost variance analysis and performance evaluation, to ensure that the project remains on track financially against the approved budget.
Day-to-day, you'll:
- Establish, implement and maintain best practice cost control systems across the Dreadnought Programme.
- Assist the team in all aspects of Project Cost Control.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to the Dreadnought team relating to cost control.
- Prepare and deliver all necessary internal and external cost control reports and documentation.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential Experience of the Cost Control Lead
- Considerable experience in the advanced application of Project Management techniques in a relevant technical project environment across the full project lifecycle.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of contract and commercial management.
- Experience in the application of Schedule Risk Analysis/ Cost Risk Analysis (SRA/CRA).
- Previous experience on complex defence Projects (desirable, but not essential)
