The client is in the process of expanding its in-house fire door inspection and remedial works team, to maintain compliance with “Building Fire Safety”, and is looking for additional self-motivated and diligent individuals to join the team.

Suitable candidates will ideally have a trade carpentry background, however candidates from other trade/technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply for the team 1 roles that cover the inspection element only. Qualified carpenters will be required for team 2.

Fire Door Inspection only
Following training that will establish and award “competency” on the “TRADA” Fire door inspection process, the team will complete fire door inspections, tagging doors with “QR” codes for identification purposes, and recording the inspections and compliance outcome specifying any remedial works, within our compliance app to ensure they link with the installation and maintenance data to meet our building safety compliance and TRADA audit requirements.

Candidates will be required to have access to a suitable vehicle, to be able to move between the various sites. A mileage rate will be paid at the appropriate rate.

Additional information

Door sets already tagged will require a basic 13 point inspection carried out and the findings added to a short form on the Fire Door Manager app. 2 photos need to be taken (inside and outside of each door) and uploaded along with a list of any remediation works for any faults identified.

The requirement is for fire doors to be inspected by a competent person and sets out that front entrance doors are inspected at least annually, and that communal doors are inspected on a quarterly basis.

This is a full time role on a temporary contract basis.

They will ensure tasks relating to quality, safety and legality are completed by supporting production, carrying out tasks outlined by the quality management system. We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance manager or an ambitious and enthusiastic individual with quality assurance experience within the food industry looking to take the next step in their career.

Areas of responsibility for the Quality Manager, FMCG Quality manager:

• Support the technical teams activity ensuring compliance with the site FSQM and any necessary audit standards and legal requirements
• Support factory compliance with FSQMS including managing and organising GMP and fabrication audits
• Support factory compliance with traceability requirements including leading traceability exercises and organising for tests of the system
• Manage and help maintain documents required to support FSQMS
• Manage the control of non-conforming products in the factory
• Managing the QA assistant team including the rota and ensuring shifts are covered
• Manage product labelling within the factory using labelling software
• Support the production of pack copies and finished product specifications
• Flexibility for occasional cover on shifts (only Monday to Friday)
• Manage calibration of equipment ensuring these are completed in a timely manner by external contractors
• Be an active member of the site's HACCP team
• Involvement with BRC activities
• Communicate effectively with production managers, supervisors, team leaders and operatives
• Compile KPI data for the technical department on a weekly basis for trend review
• Compile complaint information and support trend analysis
• Arrange microbiological sampling, and analyse trends from results
• Investigate trending issues, one-off concerns or opportunities for improvement through root cause analyses
• Deputise for technical manager as required

Skill set suitable for the Quality Manager, FMCG Quality managers role:

• Qualified with a Degree or equivalent level qualification or by experience in Food Science or related subject matter
• Previous experience in a supervisory/managerial position
• Experience in high risk food manufacturing
• This role would be the ideal position for someone who has experience of working in technical team within a food manufacturing environment
• HACCP L3/FSL3 trained
• BRC or BRCGS working knowledge of food standard/similar GFSI standard are preferred but not essential
• knowledge would be preferred but not essential as training can be provided
• Possess a good level of communication and attention to detail
• Experience of supporting FSQMS within a food manufacturing environment
• Good problem solving skills work to strict timeframes

• Working with reports in accordance with AS9102.

The successful quality inspector, engineering quality inspector, aerospace quality inspector would suit someone who is currently a quality inspector possibly working in engineering with around 5 years quality experience and looking to develop your skills. In this instance candidates would need to demonstrate exceptional skills/aptitude, have an aerospace background and be eager to further develop their career.

The will be one of a small team of quality inspectors reporting to the Quality manager and should be able to perform the role with minimum supervision and work as part of a team.

Candidates suited to this role are likely to have a related engineering background, City + Guilds/NVQ or equivalent qualifications and or specific quality related qualifications. Experience of operating CMM machines will be required for the role.
