The Role

As an emerging and exciting food manufacturer, my client is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to collaborate closely with the Technical Manager in advancing the quality assurance practices within the business. This presents an exceptional opportunity for an experienced QA Technician who is genuinely passionate about the technical aspects of food manufacturing and aspires to grow and progress within the Technical Function of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
* Monitoring Process Operations: You will be responsible for overseeing process operations and ensuring that key parameters or critical control points operate within safe and acceptable limits, conducting comprehensive testing and assessments.
* Material Documentation and Quarantine: Identify and document any materials found to be outside of agreed limits or deemed unacceptable and quarantine such materials as needed.
* Site Audits: Conduct audits of the site, which encompass hygiene, housekeeping, fabric, HACCP, stock rotation, and Quality Management Systems. You will receive full training for these responsibilities.
* Quality Management Systems: Collaborate with the Technical Manager in the maintenance of the Quality Management Systems, HACCP, Staff Training, and Continuous Improvement processes.
* Quality Assurance: As a Quality Assurance Technologist, you play a pivotal role in upholding the highest quality standards for our food products.
* Continuous Improvement: Flag any analytical failures, driving a culture of continuous improvement and maintaining product excellence.
* Document Control: Coordinate essential document control activities in alignment with the Quality and Food Safety Managers' approval.
* Audits and Safety: Participate in GMP and hygiene audits to ensure a commitment to safety and quality.
* Validation Activities: Support validation activities, including allergen testing, homogeneity checks, cleaning, and shelf-life assessments.
* Batch Verification: Verify batch documents and labels, ensuring that only top-quality products are approved for production.

Required Experience
* Educational Background: Possess a degree in Food Science or an equivalent qualification.
* Observational Skills: Demonstrated observational skills, high attention to detail, and a strong sense for hygiene and housekeeping.
* Organisation and Time Management: Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Additional Qualifications: While qualifications such as Food Hygiene, HACCP, Food Safety, or Internal Auditor are advantageous, full training will be provided.
* Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective idea conveyance.
* Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality standards are upheld.

We're looking for a versatile and experienced Senior EC&I Engineer who can take projects from the functional design specification through to delivery, managing all the relevant technical documentation throughout.

Main Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities for Senior Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer:

• Get involved with the whole project lifecycle.
• Take the lead in developing CE&I designs to national and international standards.
• Work with the wider engineering and business teams in developing safety related systems to BS EN 61508, BS EN ISO 13849-1.
• Work with the construction and commissioning team by providing CE&I support.
• Work with a team of junior engineers to guide their design activities.
• Work with the CE&I Discipline Lead Engineer to identify and develop business improvements.
• Engage in the employee development program to support your technical and behavioural growth.

Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for Senior Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer:

• Someone with a degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline or closely related subject together with a good level of design office experience.
• Someone with a good knowledge and experience in following an accredited design / engineering process to deliver an assured design / system that meets all required statutory site and national safety standards.
• Someone with the ability to work well within a design environment and other engineering disciplines.
• Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).

Desirable Criteria for Senior Control, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer:

• A Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, or someone working towards professional registration, although equivalent experience will be taken into consideration.
• A working knowledge of the requirements of PUWER and UKCA marking.
• Experience of the nuclear sector.
• Knowledge of Sellafield Standards.
