• You will serve as an Air Warfare (AW) inspector for the Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) employing a required specialized knowledge of the AN/SPY-1 Radar System and its Variants.

This position is located at an Air National Guard Air Operations Group. Its paramount purpose is to monitor and oversee the planning, organization, and supervision of all unit programs required by Air Force, Major Command, and ANG regulations in the training and employment of the force level Air Operations Center (AOC) weapons system. The Operations Director must ensure AOC weapons systems personnel are capable of operating in a United States-only, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), or a tailored alliance environment. ERM is seeking a Consultant, Environmental Air Quality Compliance to join our team in Walnut Creek, San Francisco, or Sacramento California (location flexible).

The successful candidate will work on a variety of interesting technical projects and programs for clients in the Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT), Manufacturing, Power and other sectors throughout California and nationally. This role will involve supporting ERM’s commercial initiatives including multi-disciplinary environmental permitting and compliance assessments that require working knowledge of state and Federal requirements.  

This role will engage ERM's international team of experts in sharing and developing best practices across the industry and ongoing learning opportunities. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate as a team member on a range of projects; specific areas of focus will be air quality but may include multi-disciplinary environmental compliance plans including air permits and compliance assurance programs for a variety of industrial clients.

• Interact with local regulators and clients to steward permit application review and issuance.

• Prepare emission inventory reports; quantify air pollutant emissions impacts; and prepare permit applications and permit modifications.

• Assess regulatory compliance, perform regulatory applicability evaluations and implement environmental compliance management systems and processes.

• Individual will also help prepare Material Business Plans (HMBPs), Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Emergency Planning Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) reporting, Wastewater Permitting and Compliance reports, Spill Prevention Control Countermeasure (SPCC), and others.

• Interact with local regulators and clients to steward permit application review and issuance.

• Fieldwork may include data collection, conducting air compliance assessments, and field work for other media including storm water sampling, media inspections, hazardous waste audits, compilation of waste and chemical inventories, on-site environmental compliance support, and other field-based assignments to support compliance-based documents and plans.

• Collaborate, interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, ERM employees, and subcontractors.

• To develop successful relationships, the candidate must have strong communication skills.  These relationships will not only be in California but also nationwide and globally.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS in engineering (chemical, environmental, civil engineering) or related discipline; MS degree preferred.

• 3+ years of air quality and environmental permitting and compliance experience

• Direct consulting or industry experience in the environmental field with working regulatory knowledge of local air districts SCAQMD and other local air districts, state, federal programs, Title V and RECLAIM facilities.

• Strong pollution controls and equipment systems knowledge/experience is a plus.

• Field experience with conducting air compliance monitoring, and assessment and permitting evaluation.

• Other field work experience such as, stormwater inspections, and technical experience with writing and updating of stormwater plans/SWPPPs), managing and updating HMBPs HMBP preparation, preparing wastewater permit applications is a plus.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience working with local, state, and federal agencies such as Los Angeles County Sanitation District (LACSD), South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD), Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) and other air quality agencies in California.

• Other agencies experience such as Los Angeles County Sanitation District (LACSD), Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining clear communication with clients and colleagues.

• Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to read, understand, and apply environmental regulations and agency guidance documents.

• Strong analytical and computational skills to solve technical problems and implement effective solutions.

• Effective management of multiple projects, and building client relationships that result in repeat business.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills – including technical writing experience.

• Strong self-management skills including time management and organization.

• Strong MS Office computer skills, with an advanced understanding of PowerPoint and Excel required.

For the Consultant, Environmental Air Quality Compliance position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $80,000 – $91,000.  An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above.  This job is also eligible for bonus pay.

Position Summary:
ZEISS offers contract programming, reporting, support, and training for our manual and automated solutions on a fee-paid basis. The Applications Engineer is responsible for supporting the revenue growth and success of ZEISS by efficiently providing metrology services solutions and support. The Application Engineer is responsible for providing turnkey results for the successful launch of our provided hardware and software solutions. Availability, response time and customer satisfaction are key success criteria for each service activity and as such this position requires flexibility to work different shifts and/or weekends to meet customer demands.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Consult, primarily at customer location, to ensure the successful implementation and on-going use of ZEISS Scanning solutions in the long term.  While doing so, the Application Engineer is to –
  • Develop customer specific training requirements including on-sight workshops, on location training, classroom training based on understanding customer needs to ensure the installed solution is successful.
  • Interface with customers engineering, quality and manufacturing team members and shop floor personnel to confirm scope of work and make decisions regarding onsite scope changes and adjust deliverables.
  • Be the single point contact for collecting and consulting on relevant CAD data provided by the customer.
  • Utilize ZEISS solutions to support customers’ automated scanning and inspection of parts and assemblies.
  • Consult with customer to create SOP’s based on experience to increase other team members knowledge and skills
  • Create basic and advanced inspection layouts with reports based on customer requirements.
  • Robot cell programming utilizing Virtual Measuring Room (VMR) to program robotic automated scanning process and populate inspection plans.
  • Provide customer confidence through accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Onsite support, oversight and consultations at customer installations that typically consist of 1-to-2-week engagements to assure successful rollouts and customer satisfaction.
  • Onsite troubleshoot issues and take or recommend corrective actions or provide appropriate technical information to CAPTURE 3D or GOM support team for next step actions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technically oriented degree or equivalent plus 2 years work experience
• 1+ year of proficient experience in the Launch Success Specialist position or equivalent work experience
• Successful completion, operation and demonstration proficiency in all basic hardware solutions, software and VMR programming capabilities in a contract services and POC deliverable capacity
• Proficiency in the use of the ATOS 3D scanner and TRITOP Digital Photogrammetry manual and automated measurement solutions
• Proficient in scanning different parts in different industries including but not limited to Automotive, Aerospace, Castings, Medical, Consumer goods and Plastics.
• Successfully complete industry specific inspection module training courses i.e., sheet metal, airfoil, plastics, and casting
• Completed multiple launch support and validations successfully for at least 2 different customers.
• Understanding of manufacturing, product development and quality control
• Successfully complete and demonstrate competence in basic and advanced hardware and software training.
• Able to explain how the equipment works and when to use specific equipment for certain application.
• Proficient at implementation of solutions and the operation of all series of ScanBoxes.
• Able to set up Kiosk Mode and configure custom options.
• Able to use SOPAS ET Software (RFID reader)
• Proficient at basic layouts including basic GD&T callouts.
• Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in Aukom level 1 training.
• Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in Automated Sheet Metal inspection.
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks under high pressure and tight timelines as needed.
• Knowledge and use of SICK sensor software proficiently
• Knowledge and ability to use robotic teach pendant.
• Meet required qualifications to work with ITAR designated data.
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Willing to work at customer locations for a project’s duration.
• Up to 60% travel
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
