Role and Responsibilities
Summary
The Airborne Command and Control Subject Matter Expert will be the resident expert to airborne Command and Control (C2) associated with exercises hosted or supported by the Distributed Mission Operations Center (DMOC) at Kirtland AFB, NM. The SME will support C2 mission planning, meetings, event and test development, testing and scenario development and execution. Additionally, will assist with the administration of internal systems and ensure they are functional prior to event testing and execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Brings credible expertise to C2 mission areas for white force integration, operation of high-side environment generators, and operations of live, virtual, constructive (LVC) systems identified in the government directions document. Additionally, will support and participate in scenario review to ensure desired exercise learning objectives are achievable. It is desirable for the SME to be conversant with Air Operations Center activities.
- Plays the key role in exercise development and scenario generation for weapon systems, integrating C2 into all operations
- Coordinates with mission SMEs for force generation deconfliction and scenario packaging requirements
- Supports and assists with the management and development of exercise documents ranging from: Air Tasking Orders, Air Coordination Orders, coordination cards, communication cards, Master Scenario Event List (MSEL), SPINS, aircraft SCLS, etc.
- Responsible for supporting the development and integration of new Missions and Systems capabilities by defining technical requirements, writing requirement documents, reviewing design specifications, writing acceptance test plans, and executing acceptance tests
- Responsible for determining C2 scenario training requirements and designing vignettes to support C2 training objectives
- Serves as the DMOC’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Tac - C2
-- Preferred platforms: CG, DDG, FFG, E-2, E-3, and CRC SME
- Serves as lead for TAC-C2 event integration; managing scenario development across multiple mission threads
- Provides liaison functions between command-and-control Teams and the 705 CTS Exercise Directors for appropriate hosting within the battlespace and throughout exercise development and execution process
- Facilitates coordination between government, engineering and operational personnel, ensuring proper requirements are communicated, designed and implemented within contract specifications
- Maintains technical relevance within their area of expertise
- Ensure a safe and secure work environment maintained
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years relevant operational experience
Or equivalent combination of education and related operational experience
- Military service experience conducting TAC-C2 mission skill sets
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. “Secret” security clearance
- Must possess a dynamic and flexible understanding of problem solving
- Must be comfortable with a flexible work schedule often required during mission execution periods
- Must be comfortable with briefing
Preferred qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of the Department of Defense’s requirements for DMO within current military operations
- DMO experience working with Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) assets
- Conversant with computer generated forces, the build process and environment generators

- Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.

- An ability to interpret customer requirements from verbal, non-verbal, and written formats.
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
