As a Compliance Investigator (Accident Investigator), you will:

• Be responsible for participating in PHMSA outreach activities for Federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as regulated industries.
• Serve as PHMSA primary planner and lead representative for complex, multi-agency investigations resulting from risk-based data analysis, trends, complaints, incidents, and accidents involving the transportation and security of hazardous materials in commerce.
• Investigate hazardous materials transportation accidents to determine whether noncompliance with the regulations is present and submit recommendations to the Chief Investigator.

• Provide policy interpretation and guidance memoranda to heads of operational elements to ensure TIGTA-wide consistency of approach to implementations of statutes.

• The Director of Data Analytics is responsible for providing strategic leadership, setting the division's goals, and developing a clear vision for using data analytics to enhance program integrity and support HHS OIG's mission. This includes identifying key areas where analytics can help prevent fraud, waste, and abuse, and establishing priorities to improve oversight through data-driven decision-making.
