F5’s hardware and software products are highly configurable and blazingly fast. The Quality Architect will be the focus for quality initiative and tracking for F5 Engineering. We are looking for an Architect that can support the short-term tactical security needs of F5 Engineering while building a strategic vision for enhancing quality initiatives within F5.
Position Summary
You will work closely with existing teams and across multiple products within F5 Engineering to define and organize quality metrics, bolster field quality, and look for strategic ways to support quality in line with the vision and future direction of the products and company. You will lead assigned projects and create plans for unified quality processes managed across multiple products and systems. You will lead assigned projects and create plans for how quality processes can support customer quality perceptions and eventual migration to new products and services. Partner with management on driving quality timelines. Participate in data analysis and analytics projects, serving as consultant to top management in supporting field quality and how to invest wisely in quality initiatives. Generate and promote new theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies within software manufacturing. Constantly learn about new technologies. Present in both internal and external settings on development methodology and technical advancements. Project long term technical direction and influence product roadmap.
Primary Responsibilities
Serves as primary source of technical quality expertise for F5 Engineering.
Helps understand existing quality metrics and how quality metrics support past, present, and future views of quality.
Creates quality roadmap specifically aligned to support multiple products, services, and systems.
Recommends, leads, and maintains quality initiatives that align with increasing field quality while also aligning with strategic quality initiatives.
Leads teams to develop new excellence standards as well as address maintenance of existing ones.
Brings industry knowledge and helps navigate changing technologies and upcoming trends to build a strategic company quality and excellence roadmap.
Integrates research and emerging business/industry trends into company quality and excellence programs.
Leads, reviews, and may direct the architecture of F5's key development tools, systems, and pipelines.
Contributes to the design of the product to support customer migration to new products and services.
Devises and develops new solutions that may involve cross-module dependencies.
Regularly informs top management and senior external personnel on company’s technical capabilities and future direction.
Serves as a F5 technology spokesperson at internal and external forums.
Builds formal networks with key decision makers and serves as external spokesperson for the organization.
Act as a mentor for other junior members in the team.

Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 25% of the time spent traveling.

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $210,638.00 - $315,956.00
F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
