What is the Role?

SSEN Distribution has an extensive capital development programme as we work to deliver a net zero electricity system.

This newly created role is required to support the growth of our business and is an exciting opportunity for a Contract Manager - Cost Control and Analysis to join our Procurement and Commercial team to support our Large Capital Delivery Directorate in our Distribution business.

About The Role

Regional Quality Manager required for a Tier 1 contractor based in Berkshire. The company are one of the most successfully privately owned profitable contractors in the country and their Southern operations are based from their office near Reading and turnover in excess of £1 billion a year.

The role is to provide quality and systems support to the business at bid, preconstruction, on site delivery and commissioning through to defects and warranty periods. You will be responsible for the companies quality plan and be involved in early stage works to ensure compliance in terms of the legal obligations of the wider business, full compliance with any external manufacturer and working with the supply chain to check and and ensure compliance of their independent quality systems. You will be responsible for checking of on-site quality with the delivery teams and sub-contractors and be expected to audit and maintain a register and reporting procedure for NCR's and the wider best practices. You will manage, update and amend the regional plan and work to ensure compliance with the relevant ISO standards and other industry benchmarks. This is a contract position offered initially on a 12 month contract basis working 37.5 hours a week Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities:

• Perform QC Review of documents.
• Verify data in assigned documents against source documentation, including checking text against database outputs.
• Perform editorial and technical review for grammatical and stylistic consistency in line with the Style Guide and document templates. This includes reviewing format, internal linking, and external cross-referencing.
• Document QC findings so that appropriate actions can be taken by authors. Where needed, meet with the author to discuss findings and strategize the next steps (in case the error lies within the source document), including support with the development of preferred text.
• Document QC metrics for quality tracking.
• Review vendor authoring and QC as part of oversight activities.

Your new role
The Group Compliance and Audit Manager is responsible for supporting the business in complying with group policies, processes, and procedures (SOPs), and external requirements including GDPR, ISO standards and all other relevant regulations and legislation. Key Responsibilities
Audit and business certifications

• Manage the Group's internal audit programme.
• Carry out internal audits in line with the Group's internal audit programme and ensure that findings add value to the business.
• Produce audit reports within agreed timescales that are factually accurate, and a true reflection of the processes audited.
• Ensure that audit findings are resolved by auditees within agreed timescales.
