The Chief Nursing Officers directorate will deliver expertise in clinical optimisation, transformation and improvement to improve the quality of care in Devon. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the directorate will offer clinical leadership, competence and experience in healthcare, professional practice and statutory compliance. This post sits under the Quality function and will report to the Senior Specialist Patient Experience & Complaints. The post holder will support the Patient Experience function and the wider team to ensure work is planned and managed effectively, taking a lead in assisting in the successful delivery of the directorate workplans and supporting the patient experience agenda. Provide high quality project, service, initiative and administrative support including information and analysis. Will undertake reporting and analysis of information to support delivery. Will be a key member of the team whose overarching goal is to enable, promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and initiatives. There will be a requirement to work in a matrix and flexible way across multiple areas/teams to support business needs. The objectives of the role will be regularly reviewed to align to organisational priorities. Where the post is a temporary position there may be a possibility of the post becoming permanent. More detail about the role Devon and Cornwall and Bristol Sexual Assault Referral Centres are looking for a Quality Manager to support both providers to achieve forensic accreditation to ISO 15189 including the codes. The post will be hosted by Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust who have 3 SARC sites in Exeter, Plymouth and Truro but will also support accreditation within University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who provide Bristol SARC. Both services have been working with the Forensic Capability to move towards accreditation status however we now recognise that we need the expertise of a dedicated Quality Manager Role who can interpret and advise on the implementation of the standards for the South West SARC's. This new role will be working within and with the support of a wider multi-disciplinary team. More detail about the role The post holder will report to the Clinical Matron with an overall purpose of supporting the IPC service across the RDUH. The prevention of healthcare-associated infection (HCAI) is a corporate and national priority, and a core element of safe high-quality care that promotes patient dignity and positive experiences for patients and their families. You will need to demonstrate knowledge of national guidance and the Health and Social Care Act: Code of Practice for health and adult social care on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance. The post holder will be a role model for IPC, must be able to work independently across the setting, be an effective member of the wider team and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Working in this team will also support you to work autonomously to create quality improvement projects in IPC, using your creative and leadership skills whilst having support from the team to allow you to achieve these goals. Personal development is important to the RDUH IPC team and you will be supported and encouraged to undertake a programme of study in IPC at post graduate level. You will need to be able to influence others, prioritise work and have a flexible approach. The role will be varied and includes: promoting best practice in respect to IPC, providing specialist advice and guidance for staff and patients, administering the audit programme, analysing and interpreting data and preparing and delivering reports.
