- Develop and provide educational programs, training sessions, and consultations focused on safe healthcare practices for patients with blood-borne infectious diseases and biological warfare agents (such as Smallpox and Anthrax).
- Foster awareness among healthcare professionals regarding infection prevention and control measures.
- Conduct well-designed epidemiologic investigations to assess disease patterns and identify potential outbreaks.
- Determine the existence of epidemics and promptly initiate appropriate control measures.
- Ensure strict compliance with regulatory agencies, including but not limited to the National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) and The Joint Commission.
- Regularly review and update infection control policies to align with current guidelines.
- Implement infection control surveillance tracers across diverse clinical areas to monitor adherence to national and state standards.
- Perform in-person infection control audits during surgical and dental procedures.
- Report findings to section leadership and maintain electronic records for analysis and continuous improvement.
