Bajaria Global Pty Ltd ‘The Spice Merchants’ are importers, exporters, wholesalers & distributors of over 1000 authentic Indian spices, spice mixes, rice, groceries, savories, ready to eat meals, edible oils, lentils, pulses, food products and frozen seafood and other ethnic food products to the Australian food industry. We are now seeking a dynamic Retail Buyer, with a proven track record in a similar industry to work with us full time (38 hours) in this exciting full-time role. Based in Osbourne Park, and reporting to the CEO, the primary function of the Retail Buyer is to plan, manage, select and purchase the merchandise. You will be required to base your business decisions on a thorough analysis of customer needs, conduct market research, and actively monitor sales to determine which products sell the most. Benefits Excellent work atmosphere. Full Time employment Salary of $75,000 to $80,000 plus Superannuation to the right candidate. Task & Responsibilities Responsibilities: Sourcing and selecting new products through catalogs, market knowledge and by attending national trade fairs and events; Monitoring market changes, competitor prices and products; Presenting new ranges to retail manager; Examine, select, order, and purchase at the most favorable price merchandise consistent with quality, quantity, specification requirements and other factors; Negotiate prices, discount terms and transportation arrangements for merchandise; Work with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products; Negotiate directly with vendors to get the best possible pricing and payment option Build relationships with suppliers and manage their performance. Conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance; Implement pricing, marketing, promotional and display strategies; Set or recommend mark-up rates, mark-down rates, and selling prices for merchandise. Qualification & Experience We are looking for someone with the following skills: Skills And Experience At least two to 2 years’ experience as a Retail buyer in a similar industry. Knowledge about spice industry. A minimum of a diploma qualification. Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to cultivate strong relationships in a team-based environment.
