• Determine the method of purchase: existing contract, open market, Federal Supply schedules, etc.
• Negotiate and prepare contract modifications that may change place of performance, scope of work, period of performance, and other conditions.
• Monitor the entire purchasing process from receipt of purchase request to completion of the order/contract.
• Monitor available goods and services through continuous market research.
• Ensure contract files are complete per regulations and agency policies
• Screen incoming correspondence, publications, and directives and forwards to appropriate Division personnel.

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will participate in planning for new data processing systems in terms of defining the nature of information required, organizational responsibilities, computer network requirements, and the nature of output desired from inventory management systems.

Typical assignments include:

• Assisting in maintaining records and controls over property, serving as an Accountability Property Officer.
• Assisting in analyzing, investigating, and determining causes of inventory discrepancies and action necessary to correct deficiencies.
• Managing cradle to grave operation of accountable and consumable inventory items.
• Conducting and monitoring cyclic inventories by compiling data and processing the data into systems.
• Reviewing and implementing changes in automated data bases and systems of data storage, formats, and reports.
• Assisting in researching procurement data for purchases.
• Serving as a backup for Inventory Management Specialist (warehouse) for managing supply.

• Implements policies and procedures applicable to the CMS assets, inventory, material, and equipment control and management.
• Analyzes data and develops recommendations for improvements, new techniques, and alternate methods for program enhancements.
• Plans, organizes, controls, integrates, and evaluates the work of personal Inventory programs by ensuring operations are in compliance with federal, state, and local statutes, rules, and regulations.
• Analyzes information to determine retention or repair needs for disposal actions of used assets, materials, supplies, inventory and equipment.
• Monitors contractor compliance for all objectives and identifies and corrects contract problems.

• Provides exemplary customer service to include greeting, professional appearance, positive attitude, and approaching the customer, suggestive selling and adding on.
• Completes retail reports and submits to management.
• Operates the POS terminal, scans, verifies retail price, verifies product information, processes proper type of sale/return in terminal, properly secures credit card information and delivers receipt to customer.
• Stocks and maintains the sales floor according to daily sales plan. Stays current with merchandise assortment.
• Provides on the job training to new sales store clerks as needed.
