Mobile Warehouse Stock Checker - Oxfordshire - £25,000

The position

• This full-time permanent position,you will be responsible for driving around Engalnd and Scotland to complete audit checks, candidates will need to be based in Oxfordshire.
• Rate of pay: £25,000 per annum
• Weekly hours: 37.5 hours plus 30 min unpaid break
• Shift patterns 5 days out of 7 days, shifts can start as early as 2am (unsociable hours)
• Working Environment: Mixed
• Some weeks would require 4 nights away from home - Food allowance & accommodation will be provided - Travel time included in working hours.
• Full Driving License and access to your own transport is essential

A day in the life of a Warehouse Stock Operative

As a Mobile Accuracy Checker, you will work as part of a dynamic and supportive team in what can be described as a fast-paced and target driven environment to ensure the stock entering our customer store is accurate.

Job activities

• Audit the Inbound accuracy of multiple supplier deliveries at customer store level.
• Audit Picker accuracy of stock arriving at stores and fully investigate all errors found.
• Adhere to agreed audit and error verification procedures at all times.
• Maintain integrity at all times.
• Ensure the expected productivity levels are achieved, in line with customer expectations.
• Review daily targets in line with customer expectations.

Job specifics

• Able to actively respond to both verbal instructions and audible warning devices
• The ability to communicate well, both written and verbally.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• You will be confident in their ability to add and subtract without the use of a calculator.
• Full Driving License and access to your own transport
• All work may require prolonged periods of standing and all employees will be required to kneel, bend and squat in order to access and work with low and ground level stock.

Your new role

As the successful candidate, your duties will include:

• Managing inventory accounting and valuation processes
• Analysing and reporting on inventory management, identifying areas of improvements
• Providing information on inventory holdings and valuations across global warehouses
• Lead on the implementation of new processes and methodology for an in-house production line
• Reconciling inventory to the accounts, ensuring integrity of the data
• Business partnering with Production, Sales, Logistics, Merchandising, providing inventory reports and supporting valuations
• Designing, managing and implementing procedures and controls for inventory management and movement
• Managing aged, obsolete or faulty inventory, ensuring it's costed and accounted for
• Developing systems, ensuring accurate tracking, recording and valuing of inventory
• Clearing and auditing inventory on a quarterly basis
• Supporting month- and year-end financial reporting
• Providing analysis for statutory audits, as required

What you'll need to succeed

To be the successful candidate, you must have / be:

• Qualified ACA, CIMA, ACCA or QBE, or experience in an Inventory role
• Experience working with inventory, understanding valuations, transfers, stock etc.
• The ability to take ownership of a task and work independently
• The ability to identify areas of improvement and work in a fast-paced business
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with large data sets
• Excellent communication skills
• Enthusiastic and driven

Your new role

This role requires MCIPS membership or equivalent, or a commitment to achieve MCIPS within three years. Buyer - Indirect Purchasing - Automotive Manufacturing

Responsibilities

• As the Buyer your primary responsibility will be to support the Purchasing Manager in performing all purchasing tasks including; planning, optimisation, supplier liaison and negotiation as dictated by the business requirements.
• A key part of the role will be supplier nomination, you will support and propose recommendations for local and Group suppliers to ensure that nominated suppliers are of the highest standard and comply with all Group process, procedures, policies, and guidelines.
• You will be responsible for tender processes within the assigned commodity. This will include identifying and analysing business requirements, preparing tenders and issuing them.
• Accountability for the overall portfolio of suppliers within your area of activity, including improvement measures, supplier circles, supplier failure recovery / actions and managing any political or economic consequences. In this you will ensure that suppliers are managed and coordinated to the operational and economic benefit of the company.
• You will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of the purchasing systems including directing all purchasing related queries from the business to the relevant department as well as managing contracts, purchasing records and databases.
• By managing the purchasing process from supplier to end-user, you will set up and maintain Contract Agreements in all systems, review purchase requests and check compliance with Group Guidelines before converting requests to purchase orders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.

• Previous experience within a purchasing related environment, ideally within automotive or aerospace manufacturing, or related.
• Previous experience in facilities procurement - indirect procurement experience also considered
• An in-depth knowledge and understanding of purchasing systems including SAP & SRM
• CIPS beneficial
• Comprehensive knowledge of procurement techniques
• A high level of numeracy with the ability to interrogate systems to produce relevant data
• Familiarity with the key elements of Purchase Orders, Contracts and Tenders together with their associated processes.
