Role summary:

DX Warehouse Operatives are responsible to ensure the safe and efficient unloading and loading of freight from vehicles into, and from the site. They will also support the delivery operation to ensure the correct freight is loaded to complete the delivery routes.

Key responsibilities:

-Represent DX in a professional manner at all times

-Follow all aspects of DX Manual Handling and safe working policies, including the correct use of all PPE

-Observe and adhere to all DX procedures and policies at all times

-Handle all freight with care and attention

-Access and egress vehicles using the correct means

-Use the correct equipment and methods for handling and moving all freight

-Ensure all deliveries are loaded safely prior to leaving the site

-Report all damages immediately to your line manager

-Ensure all freight being loaded or unloaded matches relevant paperwork / scanner information

-Ensure that customers freight is transported, stored safely and treated with respect

-Ensure the security of freight and company assets by reporting any suspicious activity to your line manager or the security team

-Ensure the warehouse is kept tidy and H&S issues are reported immediately

Our client is seeking a Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring that inventory is accurately logged, stored, and maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload pallets of goods using a forklift, ensuring proper handling and storage.
• Inventory Management: Log all pallets into and out of the storage area using predefined paperwork and handheld scanners.
• Storage Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organisation of storage areas, adhering to housekeeping standards.
• Picking and Packing: Accurately pick and pack items as required, ensuring attention to detail in order fulfilment.
• Off-loading: Assist with off-loading shipping containers, including ramp and loose-filled items.
• Communication: Liaise with the Storage Supervisor regarding pallet deliveries and collections.
• Stock Control Support: Aid in stock control duties as needed to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Self-Motivation: Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong self-motivation and initiative.
• Additional Duties: Support the Storage Manager with various tasks to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the warehouse.

About you

• Experience: Previous experience in warehouse operations is essential; familiarity with racked and bulk-stacked warehouses is highly desirable.
• Forklift Driving: Must have forklift driving experience; a valid Counterbalance or Pivot Steer license is preferred but not essential.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is critical, as checking inventory accuracy is a major part of this role.
• Physical Fitness: This position is physically demanding; candidates should possess a degree of fitness to handle the requirements of the role.
• Strong work ethic: Being part of a team dedicated to achieving goals and working effectively together.

Mobile Warehouse Stock Checker - Exeter - £25,043

Own Car is Required

The position

• This full-time permanent position,you will be responsible for driving around the region based in and around Exeter to complete audits on deliveries.
• Rate of pay: £25,043 per annum
• Weekly hours: 40 hours plus 30 min unpaid break (8.5 hours per day) concessions made to 6 hours per day based on stores visits +50 miles.
• Shift patterns Monday-Friday, within a window of 06:00-16:00
• Working Environment: Ambient
• Full Driving License and access to your own transport is essential.

A day in the life of a Warehouse Stock Operative

As a Mobile Accuracy Checker, you will work as part of a dynamic and supportive team in what can be described as a fast-paced and target driven environment to ensure the stock entering our customer store is accurate.

Job activities

• Audit the Inbound accuracy of multiple supplier deliveries at customer store level.
• Audit Picker accuracy of stock arriving at stores and fully investigate all errors found.
• Adhere to agreed audit and error verification procedures at all times.
• Maintain integrity at all times.
• Ensure the expected productivity levels are achieved, in line with customer expectations.
• Review daily targets in line with customer expectations.

Job specifics

• Able to actively respond to both verbal instructions and audible warning devices
• The ability to communicate well, both written and verbally.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• You will be confident in their ability to add and subtract without the use of a calculator.
• Full Driving License and access to your own transport
• All work may require prolonged periods of standing and all employees will be required to kneel, bend and squat in order to access and work with low and ground level stock.
