Head of Procurement (UK & EU)
Salary: £65,000 - £72,000 per annum plus bonus and exceptional benefits package

Working hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

The purpose of this role is to develop and implement procurement and warehouse strategies aligned with business objectives across the UK and EU
The Head of Procurement will have warehouse management responsibility, overseeing all procurement and warehouse activity as well as the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of the ERP system to ensure operation within the teams is supported effectively
Key responsibilities & tasks
* Oversee purchasing, inventory management, storage, and distribution of goods.
* Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers.
* Develop and manage budgets for procurement and warehouse.
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
* Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements.
* Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers.
* Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production.
* Ensure the supply chain is resilient, cost-effective, and capable of meeting the company's needs.
* Day to day leadership of the procurement and warehouse team
* Lead by example whilst broadening internal capabilities.
* Take responsibility for the ethical supply chain provenance of all suppliers - direct and indirect.
* Develop processes, systems, and procedures for managing and optimising the purchase and storage of goods.
* Manage and update inventory lists and track stock to prevent stock-outs.
* Implement best practices for warehouse efficiencies, safety, security compliance.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
* Strong leadership and development of Procurement team
* Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost saving and continuous improvement
* Coach and develop team members to reach their full potential in line with the Company core values.
* Maintain the Mitrefinch software to include absences, sickness etc.
* Collaborate with other departments, including finance, sales, and production, to align procurement and warehouse activities with overall business goals.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field.
- Extensive experience in procurement and warehouse management, with good experience in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
Education
- Accreditation Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS, MCIPS)
Key Skills
- Extensive experience working in procurement, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions
- Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Commercial understanding, aware of the business and customer needs and to understand the cost-related impact of own actions and decisions.
- Confidence in making the right decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Confidence in giving and receiving feedback.
- Strong management skills and demonstrable experience in leading a team.
- Analytical approach to interpreting and communicating Data.
- Highly developed written, verbal, and digital communication skills o Accurate and organised with excellent attention to detail.

- Ability to understand issues and resolve them quickly in line with priorities.
