The Store Manager role:

As a Store Manager you will have the responsibility for the running of your store - you will be a hands on individual who leads from the front in a role which can at times be challenging and demanding, focussing ultimately on maximising sales through your local knowledge, exceeding budget targets, efficient cost controlling, promoting the best customer service and looking for opportunities to lead, motivate, develop and inspire your team.

Job Purpose

Procurement Services at Essex County Council involves the buying and contract managing of all of the council's goods, services and works. The teams are split based on their category, with each team being responsible for the category planning, sourcing and contract management for their respective area.

The Passenger Transport team is unique in terms of the variety of opportunities available due to the range of responsibilities. You will have the chance that exist across the team. The Passenger Transport Team is a great place to develop your procurement skills across the three main stages of the Procurement lifecycle: category planning, sourcing and contract management.

This role will offer a wide range of experience supporting the Procurement function in various aspects, including managing supplier queries, supporting market engagement events, providing contract administration, as well as working on low-risk sourcing and contract management activities. You will conduct research and market analysis supporting Procurement Managers in the creation of Category Plans.

Overtime reconciled over a 4-weekly period; threshold 169 hours in a month's period. Whatever is on top of those hours gets paid at £18.48 per hour (£19.87 per hour for night shifts). There is potential of up to 2hrs of overtime available each day!

Typical hours as a full time Warehouse Operative:

• We have a variety of shifts available: 6am - 2pm, 8am - 16pm, 10am - 18pm, 14pm - 22pm, 22pm - 6am
• You will be on a rota for any 5 days per week and expected to work 37.5hrs per week (flexibility will be required)

Your role as a Warehouse Operative:

• Order Picking for a leading grocery retailer using MHE equipment
• Prior to employment, successful candidates must pass a drug & alcohol test
• Ensure all operational manuals and safe systems of work are followed to achieve an accident-free operation
• To reconcile products with documentation and to load/unload vehicles
• Where a company uniform and personal protective equipment have been issued, they must be always worn when on duty
• This is a physical job so you must enjoy work of a physical nature such as lifting

KEY SKILLS, RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES

Supporting the purchasing team on a day to day basis, ensuring stock levels are maintained.

Proactively monitoring and reducing dead stock in line with company targets.
Work closely with sales staff members to manage their requirements
Liaising with suppliers to implement agreements. These will include cost savings, warranty, payment terms, ordering systems and deliveries in time to keep the LEW network stocked correctly.
Resolve supplier queries in relation to stock orders, in liaison with supplier, LEW branches and head office accounts teams.

The role
