We're looking for a warehouse team manager to join our team in the Plymouth depot. You'll be responsible for a sizeable team of warehouse operatives, making sure that all products are picked and packed in a safe and secure manner. We'll look for you to engage with your team; leading and coaching them to deliver better results week on week, along with making sure that they adhere to working standards, policies and procedures.
What you'll do:
* manage a sizeable team of warehouse operatives * inspire, engage and coach your team to be highly efficient * work towards tight deadlines and critical measures * develop and build positive relationships with various internal business partners * drive warehouse standards, procedures and policies- particularly health and safety * analyse performance data * identify areas to improve process within your team and the warehouse operations * plan and organise the delivery of own and your teams work load

The Role:
As an Inventory Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be the first point of contact for the customer and responsible for the day-to-day management and data entry of customer orders for spares and across a complex repair process.

Day-to-day, you'll support the wider team by providing Inventory, logistics knowledge and intelligence to improve the demand and supply plans. You'll understand customer need and support Procurement with prioritising orders in the supply chain accordingly. You'll You will also:monitor spend against budget as well as manage and report on GFE holdings, ensuring we maintain a full auditable trail.

• Manage and maintain the data integrity of the Inventory systems used on the contract.
• Monitor and report on performance against internal and external Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Oversee the full end-to-end spares/repairs supply chain process, co-ordinating stakeholders as required and movement of stock between internal locations.
• Support and input into the development and continuous improvement of Inventory processes and procedures.
• Defcon and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) management.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential Experience of the Inventory Manager

• Ability to effectively build and manage relationships with stakeholders.

• IT systems including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Within your role as this organisation's Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for:

Head of Procurement (UK & EU)

Salary: £65,000 - £72,000 per annum plus bonus and exceptional benefits package

Working hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

The purpose of this role is to develop and implement procurement and warehouse strategies aligned with business objectives across the UK and EU

The Head of Procurement will have warehouse management responsibility, overseeing all procurement and warehouse activity as well as the implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of the ERP system to ensure operation within the teams is supported effectively

Key responsibilities & tasks

* Oversee purchasing, inventory management, storage, and distribution of goods.

* Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers.

* Develop and manage budgets for procurement and warehouse.

* Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.

* Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements.

* Negotiate contracts, terms and deadlines with vendors and suppliers.

* Manage an efficient flow of goods to ensure optimum production.

* Ensure the supply chain is resilient, cost-effective, and capable of meeting the company's needs.

* Day to day leadership of the procurement and warehouse team

* Lead by example whilst broadening internal capabilities.

* Take responsibility for the ethical supply chain provenance of all suppliers - direct and indirect.

* Develop processes, systems, and procedures for managing and optimising the purchase and storage of goods.

* Manage and update inventory lists and track stock to prevent stock-outs.

* Implement best practices for warehouse efficiencies, safety, security compliance.

* Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

* Strong leadership and development of Procurement team

* Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost saving and continuous improvement

* Coach and develop team members to reach their full potential in line with the Company core values.

* Maintain the Mitrefinch software to include absences, sickness etc.

* Collaborate with other departments, including finance, sales, and production, to align procurement and warehouse activities with overall business goals.

Skills and Qualifications

• Degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field.
• Extensive experience in procurement and warehouse management, with good experience in a leadership role.
• Proven experience managing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).

Education

• Accreditation Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS, MCIPS)

Key Skills

• Extensive experience working in procurement, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of the industry and market conditions
• Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Commercial understanding, aware of the business and customer needs and to understand the cost-related impact of own actions and decisions.
• Confidence in making the right decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Confidence in giving and receiving feedback.
• Strong management skills and demonstrable experience in leading a team.
• Analytical approach to interpreting and communicating Data.
• Highly developed written, verbal, and digital communication skills o Accurate and organised with excellent attention to detail.

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will play a vital role in assisting the Store Manager with the day-to-day running of the store. You will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the store is well-organised, stocked, and running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about retail and providing exceptional customer service.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with customers, handling complaints, and ensuring that they have an exceptional experience in our store. You will be the go-to person for all customer queries and concerns, and your friendly and approachable demeanour will help to build strong relationships with our customers.

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will also be responsible for authorising working hours, time off, breaks, and overtime for our team members. You will ensure that our team is well-rested and motivated to deliver the highest standards of customer service.
