Job Title: Senior Buyer
Contract type: Permanent
They are currently seeking an accomplished Senior Buyer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the procurement of materials, plant hire, and subcontract packages. As a key support to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing the tender, award, and recommendation of works packages and orders within a designated section of works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the representative for the company ensuring that all communication, negotiations, and interactions with the supply chain align with our values and Procurement & Supply Chain vision.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in all procurement activities, making decisions based on value rather than solely on cost.
- Engage internal stakeholders throughout the procurement process, securing their endorsement for recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver internal presentations to key stakeholders, articulating package strategies and award recommendations.
- Thoroughly consider the capacity of the market during the tendering process.
About You: Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Skilled communicator with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.
- Proven analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Strong planning skills, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently and handling competing priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Experience:
- Ideally, previous experience on a construction project, although not essential.
- Demonstrated capability in managing the procurement process from cradle to grave.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications:
- You will either hold or be working towards the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
