Scope of the role

To ensure Purchase orders are in place for finished goods, components and raw materials, to be received in time or suitably stocked so that works orders and sales orders are fulfilled to customer requirements. As a planner/buyer will focus on placing orders, communications and chasing vendors to keep late backlog to a minimum, as well as necessary expediting activities.

Main responsibilities include.

• Support all sourcing activities including the timely placing of Purchase orders using ERP/MRP planning methods

Acorn by Synerige is looking for an experienced Multi Skilled Warehouse Operative ideally from a food manufacturing background who has a positive flexible approach to work. As a Warehouse Operative you will be working in a busy warehouse to ensure the safe, storage and dispatch of chilled, frozen and speciality products.

A Multi Skilled Warehouse Operative will be maintaining and advising of amendments to pallet layer quantities. You will work as part of the Stock Control Team to manage the stock within the depot. And to support with stock take on an annual basis.

Duties will also include:

• Operate within all aspects of the Warehouse following operational and admin processes and standards, including work within the Frozen, Chilled and Ambient chambers.
• Accurately pick customer orders and ensure that all products are assembled in a methodically stacked way to the highest standard for our customers.
• Maintenance of pick faces reducing and increasing on a constant basis in line with demand.
• Maintenance of product layout, ensuring that products of a similar nature are segregated to avoid picking errors. Heavy items are to be laid at ground level.
• Unloading and loading of vehicles to ensure all goods both in and out are recorded accurately
• Moving pallets and ensuring the yard is clean and safe
• Building cages and ensuring any damages to cages are reported to management on shift
• Ensuring care is taken with all stock to prevent damages and complete checks for damaged or missing items.
• Work with all team members to ensure corporate goals, productivity, Service Excellence and any other specific targets are consistently achieved and maintained

Experience required:

• Warehouse experience
• Experience with voice pick - preferable
• Numeracy and Literacy
• Basic IT literacy
• Experience working in multi-temperature distribution
• Good communication skills
• Be a team player with a flexible approach to duties and tasks
• Able to plan and organise where appropriate

Scope of the role
The Category Buyer will support and work directly with the Purchasing Manager and the Purchasing team to ensure the smooth daily running of a busy office, whilst supporting our sales team to meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

* Monitoring stock levels and future demands on our MRP system whilst raising and expediting orders to fulfil these requirements to set levels.
* Building good relationships with our vendors, maintaining day to day contact with your supplier through Outlook, Teams, WeChat, and Skype.
* To ensure cost savings are made where possible, with initiative given to look at streamlining existing processes and supplier working relationships.
* To ensure orders placed remain on time to the agreed confirmation dates set within the system and are expedited to ensure required stock levels are maintained.
* To help source new potential supply routes and ensure that competitive market rates for garments and components are constantly checked and updated.
* To manage new sample developments within your category range whilst working with the Sales and Development team to bring these into the business.
* To work closely with our Quality Department to ensure high levels of consistent quality are maintained within your product range.
* To liaise with the Accounts department to ensure correct invoicing and credits are maintained.
* To analyse available data to help assist with decision making on planning and purchasing requirements. Manage set projects through to completion.
* To manage production schedules and co-ordinate with the Freight department to ensure on-time shipments of products.
* To manage accurately the administration required within your category.
* Assessing and monitoring supplier performance in service, quality, pricing, and deliveries.
* Looking at ways to constantly improve and update our environmental and ethical standards within our supply chain.

Qualifications and Experience
* A-Level / Degree level qualification in a business-related topic preferable.
* Experience working as a buyer or category buyer.
* Good /advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is required.
* Previous experience working with MRP / ERP type ordering systems
* Strong communication skills internally and externally are essential.
* The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities and projects whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy.
* Excellent organisational and administration practices.
* Purchasing experience with manufacturers within Asia.
* Previous experience of garment manufacturing an advantage but not essential.
