An opportunity has risen for a Bid Writer to join our busy Business Development and Bids Department, based at our offices in Lincoln. The role offers an exciting opportunity to become a valued member of our close-knit Team, which is responsible for producing project-specific bid submissions to win work for our divisions and to secure construction contracts with new and existing clients across a variety of sectors.
Reporting to our Bids Team Leader, the role involves collating information from both our tender library and liaising with colleagues as required to produce comprehensive, concise, and well-presented submissions (including Tender Submissions, Prequalification Questionnaires, Expressions of Interest, bespoke bid responses and supporting marketing collateral). You will also assist with marketing activities as required, preparing awards submissions and social media content, presenting proposals to clients, attending client meetings, and networking events and following up on project leads.
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will:
Have previous experience in a similar role. Experience in construction, architecture or engineering would be an advantage.
Have excellent writing skills - and enjoy writing!
Be meticulous with strong attention to detail and proof-reading skills.
Be highly organised and able to prioritise a high workload to meet deadlines.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Be confident, proactive, and able to work on own initiate.
Have excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel) and preferably experience using Adobe InDesign software although training will be given.
Have a full driving licence, as the role involves travel to our sites and other offices.
