We are pleased to support our client Cwmpas as they look to recruit the critical role of Head of Communications - Policy and PR. within their Senior Leadership team.

The Role:
The purpose of the role is to create and implement Cwmpas' communications strategy. You will need to be a leader in every sense, that will include leading a small comms team, leading as a subject matter expert, and leading by informing the CEO of the best approach.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy, producing high quality content that amplifies our mission and impact across all diverse areas of our work.
- Collaborate with the Head of Business Development to create compelling communications that support fundraising efforts
- Promote and embed the Cwmpas brand and messaging internally and externally, ensuring they resonate with diverse audiences and ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across the organisation and all platforms.
- Lead on policy and public relations, growing our reputation as a thought leader and influencing change for the longer term.
- Develop and manage the department's workplan and budget, including policy and public affairs strategies, campaigns, research, press and PR strategies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior key external stakeholders, with a view to identifying future visibility and impact opportunities and manage risks.
- Represent Cwmpas externally, and act as a spokesperson in the media as and when required.
Person Specification:
- You will need to be a communications expert with leadership experience.
- Have worked within the 3rd sector previously and have a thorough understanding of the challenges within the sector.
- Politically astute and aware, being able to liaise with journalists, senior officials, and politicians.
- Strategic thinkers.
- Confident in own ability and able to make decisive decisions.
- Excellent communications skills, able to present confidently.
- Experienced in digital channels and able to grow the organisations presence, audience, and awareness of its impact.
This is a remote role but candidates must be within a sensible commuting distance to Cardiff for occasional company meetings
