Your new role
As PR Manager you will have responsibility for the development, implementation and evaluation of impactful integrated communications strategies across all brands and products. You will effectively manage and align PR campaigns with marketing campaigns to build and maximise brand proposition, generating sustainable growth in patronage and positioning the company as the first choice for travel in Northern Ireland. You will establish, manage and lead effective Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes and sponsorships to deliver both community engagement and business development objectives with significant accountability to protect and build a strong positive corporate reputation. You will be responsible for:
- Develop, implement and manage public relations strategy across all brands to achieve significant increase in brand awareness
- Manage media relation strategies in relation to crisis management providing specialist advice and guidance on presenting key messages and reactive responses to mitigate any potential negative PR.
- Work effectively in partnership with Marketing Managers and Social Media & eCommerce Manager to lead a sustained programme of PR initiatives
- Develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies and effective tactics in respect of key corporate projects, major service developments and high-profile events to significantly contribute to their successful delivery by securing public and stakeholder awareness, support and buy-in.
- Identify, develop and maximise compelling story angles and write/edit, well-structured press releases, feature articles, publications, newsletters and digital copy, award submissions as appropriate.
- Research, plan and deliver company statements, speeches for Senior Management, presentations and act as a company spokesperson providing media interviews on key PR campaign and Corporate issues.
- Maximise effective media relations with key journalists across print, broadcast and online platforms.
- Evaluate all relevant sponsorship proposals and effectively manage appropriate partnerships to ensure they support corporate communications and CSR objectives
- Accountable for the development, implementation and ownership of sponsorship communication plans associated with corporate projects
- Manage PR campaign budgets and maximise campaign Return On Investment. Identify learnings and make recommendations for future effective PR & CSR approach.
- Collaborate directly with all staff grades, providing expert PR advice in relation to corporate product development programmes and cross-functional working groups.
- Maximise professional development and training opportunities for Media Relations Officer and deliver effective performance management and assessment.
What you'll need to succeed
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline such as Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or Communications.
- Desirable if you have Professional qualification in Marketing, Communications and/or Public Relations or memebership of CIPR or equivalent professional body.
- At least 3 years' recent experience in a similar PR role, in a multi-disciplined organisation with a proven track record leading, developing and executing successful, creative Public Relations/Corporate Social Responsibility and consumer PR campaigns.
- Experience of leading and developing successful Corporate/PR and CSR campaigns including media relations, event management, sponsorships, stakeholder engagement and digital/social media tactics.
- Experience of delivering successful PR campaigns as part of a multi-agency communications strategy for high profile events, e.g., Climate/ environmental actions/key corporate projects.
- Experience of managing people
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences and channels.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and creative approach, with the ability to identify and seize opportunities for positive PR.
- A good understanding of the media landscape in Northern Ireland and beyond.
- Broad range of creative copywriting skills with attention to detail/strong proofreading skills
- Strong understanding and practical experience of maximising digital platforms including video content
- Strong media relationships
What you'll get in return
A highly competitive salary and a 12-month fixed term contract. Flexible and hybrid working is available. The current employer's pension contribution rate currently ranges from 18% to 22%. 26 days annual leave plus 9 stat days.
