The Opportunity:
The Social Media and Digital Marketing Specialist will assist in growing ERAU’s social media presence related to increasing enrollment across the university. This position works closely with various departments to ensure that Embry-Riddle’s social media communicates the university's message and brand effectively.
In addition, this role will help manage digital advertising campaigns and reporting in tandem with assigned media buyers to promote Embry-Riddle’s programs and initiatives.
As a key member of the Digital Strategy team in the Enrollment Marketing and Digital Strategies department, this person reports to the Associate Director of Social Media Strategy.
This in-person position is responsible for content creation, editing written and graphical elements and posting across all ERAU social media platforms.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about digital marketing and social media engagement, with a strong background in data and analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of a comprehensive social media strategy for the university, in line with overall enrollment marketing goals.
- Manage social media channels (including but not limited to Facebook, X, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube) and ensure they are updated regularly with relevant and engaging content.
- Execute a solution-focused approach to moderation of online commentary on social media – both positive and negative.
- Contribute to the creation of content calendars and capitalizing on social media trends to align with ERAU enrollment goals.
- Assist in creating detailed reporting of social media and digital advertising analytics monthly including recommendations of ways ERAU can improve social media and digital marketing campaigns based on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure all social media and digital advertising content is on-brand, aligned with the university's voice and messaging, and appropriate for the intended audience.
- Work with university leadership to manage crisis communication through social media channels.
- Stay up to date with social media and digital advertising trends and innovations and recommend new strategies to stay ahead of the curve for the university.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in media, marketing, communications or a related field
- 1+ years of experience required managing large-scale social media accounts, preferably in higher education or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of social media best practices and platform algorithms.
- Preferred experience with editing both photos and video within Canva or a similar platform.
- Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools.
- Preferred experience with Sprout Social or other social media management software.
- Demonstrated skill in writing and editing, with an eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate ideas and s clearly and effectively to teams/stakeholders.
- Must have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
- Graciously accepts constructive critique and can incorporate feedback.
