The Analyst Report Writer works in conjunction with the IT development team to develop and support business wide reporting. This position is responsible for end-to-end report development including interaction with end users to gather requirements, understanding report objectives, designing and developing reports using SSRS and PowerBI.
What will I be doing as an Analyst Report Writer?
Design, build and deploy business intelligence solutions including BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
Develop visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop
Connect to data sources, import data and transform data for Business Intelligence
Translate business needs to technical specifications
Develop and update technical documentation and complete frequent data reconciliations
Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
Responsible for design methodology and project documentation
To be successful in this role you will:
Have proven experience as a Power BI Analyst or Report Writer
Be experienced in taking large amounts of data and turning it into reports
Have a background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining
Have an in-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
Have knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
Be experienced in dealing with a high volume of data and transactions
Experience of working with financial data is not essential
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
Knowledge of Power BI, SSRS or comparable reporting products.
Familiar with SQL relational database structure, MS SQL Server preferred.
Good skills of SQL language.
Working knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Outstanding analytical and technical skills for report design and execution.
Excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of SSRS preferred but not required.
This is a Hybrid role working on site and also from home (the first 3 months during probation will be worked from the office full time, you will then move on to hybrid working from month 4).
