Hours: 38 hours

Location: Unit 10 / 1 Diamond Street, Cooroy, QLD 4563
Experience required: Minimum 2 years’ experience in relevant roles.
The candidate in mind will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
• Study construction drawings and specifications to determine materials required, precise dimensions, and installation procedures.
• Cut, shape, and assemble materials, including timber, metal, and plastic, using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Prepare and mark out layouts for the construction of structures.
• Construct frameworks, roof framing, and structural elements, ensuring all components are square and level.
• Lay sub-flooring, and floorboards, and verify the trueness and integrity of all installed structures.
• Nail fascia panels, and sheath roofs, and install exterior wall cladding, door, and window frames according to design specifications.
• Assemble prepared materials and fit structures into place, ensuring a high standard of quality and durability.
• Cut joints and fit wood components accurately to form joints and connections.
• Install and repair wooden fixtures, such as cabinets, shelves, and fittings.
• Order and select timbers, materials, and tools required for the job.
• Construct concrete formwork for foundations, where required.
• Repair and replace existing timber and other fittings in existing structures.
• Collaborate with other trades to ensure effective project delivery and adherence to safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to site safety protocols.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with local building codes and industry standards.
Qualification
• Certificate III in Carpentry (preferred but not mandatory).
Other Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of carpentry experience.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
• Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements and calculations.
