• Support Senior Librarian of Reference & User Services in managing daily customer operations, maintenance of library facilities/spaces and services to users (staff and public) in line with standards, policy and procedure.
• Oversee and manage the library’s circulation and information/enquiry services, including monitoring service delivery (across different channels) by staff, roster planning, manning of circulation counter, processing of loan and membership transactions, handling advisory/information enquiries, and troubleshooting issues related to common library equipment/services.

• Promote library collection and services through curated book displays, subject guides, tours and events. Develop training kit/handbook/materials and conduct staff and public user education/ induction.
• Be the central contact point for coordinating and managing the usage of library public space e.g. exhibition galleries, meeting rooms.
• Assist in collection management and maintenance through shelf reading, collection stocktake, conservation and provision of timely access to materials.
• Any other duties as required.

Requirements:

• At least three years of relevant library work experience, particularly in academic or special library environments.
• Possess strong customer service and communication skills.Meticulous, organised, and independent self-starter who possess critical thinking skills.
• Team player willing to co-operate and share. Possess good interpersonal, administrative and supervisory skills.
• Willing to learn, able to multi-task and complete tasks with tight deadlines independently; possess good time management.

You will be required to use tools and equipment such as leaf blowers, carpet cleaners, vacuum and mop, pressure washer and cleaning chemicals, work individually and in a team with others, and have the ability to work quickly and with accuracy.

The work is physical, and you may be required to work in a harsh desert environment with temperatures that range from 12 to 45 degrees Celsius.

You will be employed on a full-time basis of $26.16 per hour under the terms and conditions of the Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia Pty Ltd Enterprise Agreement 2016 (Resort Worker Level 1) and receive a minimum of 38 hours per week.

The work is usually performed between the hours of 06:00 to 23:00, Monday to Sunday as this role requires shift work, weekends and Public Holiday’s.

Work is expected to commence on or around April 2025 for a period of 12 months.

Experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to learn and acquire additional skills during their employment.

Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia requires 1 worker to work within our Housekeeping Department as a PA Cleaner Shift Leader cleaning indoor and outdoor public areas and supervising department in the Public Area Supervisor’s absence located in Yulara, NT.

The day-to-day duties may include:

• Cleaning assigned Public Areas by following a repeating daily task list
• Performing Regular Deep cleans on assigned areas
• Operate machinery required for public area cleaning in a safe manner
• Ensure all trolleys and chemical caddies are clean, tidy and stored appropriately
• Ensure any lost property is recorded and correct procedure is followed
• Supervise the department in the Public Area Supervisor’s absence to ensure all daily operational requirements are met
• Assist training new employees
