If so, you could be the candidate we are looking for to join our South Melbourne based team as our new General Manager, State Sales, VIC & TAS. Managing a team of five, you will shape and execute our growth agenda, focusing on culture, vision, and leadership.
As the GM, State Sales, VIC & TAS you will be at the forefront of our ambitious sales goals, responsible for setting and executing strategic plans to achieve sales volume, variable margin, and EBIT targets. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving initiatives for customer satisfaction, implementing strategic pricing strategies, and identifying growth opportunities to secure market share.
The key areas of focus for this role are varied as we strive to achieve our goals of Customer First and Profitable Volume Growth, however you can expect to play a pivotal role in the following areas:
Customer Management
- Developing and executing customer plans aligned with business goals.
- Driving improvements in Customer NPS and strategic pricing strategies.
- Identifying and capturing profitable volume growth opportunities.
- Contributing to the Sales Leadership team to capitalise on strategic opportunities.
- Aligning and developing business plans with Retail Key Accounts and Independents.
- Leading negotiations, business reviews, and presentations for new opportunities.
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment and understanding of customer engagement plans.
Business Development
- Implementing strategies for current and potential customers.
- Leading negotiations with customers and merchants.
- Overseeing state-based Sales cycle planning and forecasting processes.
- Operationalising and implementing annual business plans aligned with the overarching GWA strategic plan.
- Recommending continuous improvement initiatives and innovations.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity.
Team Leadership
- Managing performance through established KPIs and regular reviews.
- Recruiting, engaging, developing and retaining high-performing staff.
- Providing opportunities for personal and professional development for your team.
- Delivering sales coaching and mentoring to drive team success.
Technology Optimisation
- Optimising our CRM technology for business intelligence and leveraging insights to inform sales growth opportunities.
- Monitoring budgets, reporting variances, and recommending resolutions.
- Working closely with Sales Operations to derive insights for expanding our ‘share of wallet’.
About you:
Our successful candidate will have proven experience in sales leadership with a track record of achieving ambitious targets, as well as strong strategic thinking and vision-setting capabilities. It goes without saying that you’re an excellent communicator, negotiator, and presenter, but you’ll also have the ability to build and lead high-performing teams and be familiar with CRM technology and business intelligence.
