We have recently been awarded several new projects and need to recruit a carpenter for domestic, commercial and industrial works. You will report to the Project Manager and Site Supervisor. You should have experience working on domestic and commercial buildings and have a thorough understanding of current health and safety legislation. The right candidate will need to have a can do attitude and be able to work alone and also within a small team. Job Purpose To carry out all aspects of carpentry work as and when required, ensuring the highest possible standard of workmanship is achieved at all times. Main Duties Installation and maintenance and servicing of all types of wooden material in line with client's expectations. Study drawings and specifications to determine dimensions and the materials required for jobs, dimensions & installation procedures · Measuring and calculating before cutting timber Erect formwork to suspended slabs, columns, beams and wall Erecting sub-floor structures; wall and roof framing, fit-out and fixture of doors and all building hardware and fittings Construct wall frames, install flooring systems, construct ceiling frames, erect roof trusses, erect eaves, install doors Installing finished panels inclusive of walls, intermediate floors, and roofing solutions Erect framework and props using hand tools, nails and other equipment (Impact drivers, grinder, hammer, drills, levels) Follow the direction of the surveyor mark outs Manually move material as required Prepare layouts Shape and cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools Assemble and nail cut and shaped materials Erect framework and props using hand tools, nails and other equipment Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install Construct formwork May Strip Formwork General Carpentry duties Build scaffolding and other construction structures Measuring and calculating wooden structures Erecting formwork Stacking timbers and ply ready for the next job Stripping desks Checking elevations using a level Making stipends for edge shutters Setting up decks and walls for concrete construction The person must be willing to commit to the company on a long-term basis. We are committed to employing local workers. Ideally, we would like to recruit an Australian or an Eligible New Zealand for this position. This is a full time position (40 hours per week). You will work at sites directed by management and report to Windsor, QLD 4030 and will be paid a salary of $85,000. Salary will be dependent on your skills, education and experience. Knowledge of other trades and ability to co-ordinate works with other trades. Understanding of current H&S regulations and ability to read and understand risk assessments and method statements, etc. Cert 3 or equivalent is desirable but not essential if the applicant has the relevant experience At least 3 years’ worth of carpentry experience.
