The PCP team which is described in more detail below works closely with GPS in the borough to provide interventions to patients with mental disorders. The team falls within the remit of the Community Mental Health Transformation which has received funding as part of the NHS Long term plan. We also have a significant increase in ADHD/ASD referrals and must conduct the initial assessment while often those patients with previously diagnosed ADHD and who have stopped medications are referred back to PCP for medication initiation and monitoring. These cases tend to remain for months and some of them have also been with us for more than a year after being declined by other services. Although we will accept the initial referrals from GPs, these are redirected to our local ADHD Services.
