The Opportunity
Our Australian Steel Markets business is looking for a Health, Safety and Environment Professional to support our Orrcon Steel business in South Australia. Orrcon Steel is a division of BlueScope in Australia, and a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe, and a leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.
Working as part of a large national safety team you will have the opportunity to be part of an organisation who is always focused on ensuring we are up to date with new methods and advancements in Safety, Health and Wellbeing,

What Will You Do?
Based at our Orrcon Steel O’Sullivan Beach site, with responsibility for multiple sites across Adelaide, you will collaborate with our frontline management teams to coach, develop, and support our manufacturing business to achieve its health and safety requirements. In this dynamic role, where no day is the same, you will be exposed to a variety of different risk profiles – providing you with the opportunity to enhance and grow your expertise. You will:
- oversee governance requirements, supporting the team with conducting and reporting due diligence activities
- support implementation of the Orrcon Steel Health, Safety and Environment plan
- coach and support leaders to understand their risk profile and critical controls, and actively seek higher levels of control
- deliver HSE advice to our leaders, thinking beyond the quick fix, to promote continual improvement in the engagement of people and management of risk
- oversee serious incident investigations, facilitating engagement to understand how work is done and adoption of fit for purpose solutions

- proven experience in governance HSE management systems and critical risk controls
- ability to influence and coach stakeholders at all levels of the business

- experience in incident investigation
